Leadership Notebooks*This year students will be more involved in taking

responsibility for their own education. Each student will set trimester academic and personal goals and will track and graph data to support their progress in a Leadership Notebook. Progress on school WIGs, grade level WIGs, and personal WIGs will be contained in these notebooks.

*Each student’s Leadership Notebook will also become a place for celebrating achievements and leadership roles, serving as a portfolio of the student’s leadership.

*Student-led conferences will allow students to share these notebooks with their family members and discuss areas of strength and areas where help is needed. This empowers students to feel that they are in charge of their own learning.

*WIGs (Wildly Important Goals)

San Onofre School WIGs:

*All students will increase a performance band in Reading Comprehension by the end of third trimester and students below grade level standards will increase a grade level and a half.

*All students will improve one performance band on Number Sense grade level standards by the end of third trimester.

*100% of our students will identify with a Leadership Role in their classroom or schoolwide by the end of third trimester.

*Dress Code: closed toed shoes (safety reasons); shirts/dresses with 2 finger wide straps

*School starts at 8:15. Students are late if not at the room by the time the class arrives.

*Wednesdays: Early Release Days (1:15 pm)

*Snack/Recess: 9:50-10:05

*Lunch: 11:35-12:15

*Students use bathroom and wash hands first
