3 TYPES OF VANPOOLS

• Third-party vans leases the vanpool vehicle for a monthly fee that includes the vehicle operating cost, insurance, and maintenance.

• Owner-operated vans - An individual leases or purchases a van and operates the van independently.

• Employer-provided vans - The employer buys or leases vans for employees' commute use. The employer organizes the vanpool riders and insures and maintains the vehicles.

How to Start a Vanpool

• Group of Interested Individuals usually 7 to 15 (can be less)• Dedicated Drivers (at least 2)

Per Seat Cost EXAMPLE: Leasing cost = $ 1,400 Passengers = 10 $1,400 divided by 10 = 140.00 The per seat cost would be $ 140.00
