of the first week. This safety

card is to be used when

picking up your child.

Please flash or display the

card at the side of your car

window once you have

entered the main gate for

the duty teacher to see.

Teachers will send your child

to your car at the drop off/

pick up zone. You won’t

need to come out of your

car to get your child. This is

to prevent a traffic jam.

Please inform the office if

somebody else is fetching

your child. Even if the

person has the safety card,

we will not allow the child to

follow especially if she/he

shows distress until we

have confirmation from

parents.

| Be prompt in getting your

child. Duty teachers will

be around for one hour

after dismissal time. A fine

of RM5.00 will be charged

for every half hour late

after 1.00 PM.

| Vehicles entering our

complex

should have

the emblem

sticker.

For precaution

and security

measures, we

advise you to:

| Introduce yourself, your

child and any other persons

who are likely to fetch your

child from school at a

regular basis.

| Inform us if a different

person is going to fetch your

child. You may call the

office and give a brief

description to the school

clerk or the class teachers.

| A Safety Card with your

child’s name and class will

be given to you by the end

3. SECURITY

Page 2 TTDSFNEWS 01/18

Leaving your

child for the first

time can be a

difficult

experience for

you and your

child. We

understand

very well the strange feeling

your child is going through in

a new environment with

teachers who may be total

strangers. Your cooperation

and trust in the class teachers

can prevent or ease such

anxiety:

| Help your child to get

familiar to the classroom –

look around, show your

interest and if possible

spend some time with the

teachers and other

children.

| Hand your child to the

class teacher after

exchanging greetings.

| If your child is crying or is

making a fuss, assure your

child that you will be back

to get him/her.

| Say a proper ‘goodbye’

with a hug or a kiss and

leave immediately. Please

do not leave without

saying ‘goodbye’ as it can

be terrifying for your child

to find that you are

suddenly gone.

| Once you have said

‘goodbye’ and left your

child, don’t keep coming

back as this could upset

your child even more. Most

children do not remain

upset long after the parent/

guardian is gone.

| Please be prompt in

fetching your child. Waiting

can cause more anxiety.

| Some children take longer

than others to settle into a

new situation, so please

persevere with your child

and make it as positive an

experience as possible.

2. SENDING YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL

CwR UNICKERU

wRE wvwIJwSJE

wN NHE OFFICE wN RM3.00 PER

PIECE

Please let your child rest at

home for any of the following

conditions:

| Abnormal temperature like

fever

| Vomiting

| Loose bowels (diarrhea)

| Bad flu and cough

| Infective rashes or sores

| Communicable disease

wJJERLT/ MEDICwJ PROSJEM It is important that the staff be

informed of any allergies and

medical problems that your child

may have. Please indicate on the

registration form. The staff must be

aware and will take extra care to

your child’s needs.

IJJMEUU/ IMJORT Young children are very

vulnerable. They can be unhappy

even at the slightest pain or a little

discomfort. The class teacher

should be notified if your child has

been/is sick.

4. HEALTH ISSUES MEDICwNIOM Staff will not give

children medications

without any consent

from parents. All

medications must be

prescribed by your

doctor and clearly

labeled with your child’s

name. Never leave

medication in your

child’s bag. Always put it

in a container and give

it to the class teacher if

necessary.

| Big bags are too much for the

children to carry and

require bigger space.

Children’s school bags

are hung outside the

classroom to allow

more space for

children and to prevent

distraction to the lessons in the

class room.

| Please label your child’s bottle

and container with his/her

name. This makes it faster to

return them and not

accumulate lost and found items.

i. A small school bag.*

ii. A bottle of plain drinking water *

iii. A handkerchief or face towel*

iv. A change of clothing

v. A plastic bag for soiled clothing

Footwear: Proper shoes, preferably the ones that your child can put on him/herself.

No shoe laces or strings, please! Laces can cause problems for a very young

child especially of Taska age. *Slippers are not appropriate footwear*
