Welcome Back
to School
June 2020
Illustrated by Ms Green
We are so glad to have you back at
school.
Being together will still be lots of fun
but some things will be different for a
while.
This story will show you what our
school looks like now and what we can
all do to keep each other safe.
This is Taylor and Bobbi, they will
show you around.
Hi!
We both have a bubble that stretches
to the end of our arms.
All of our friends have their own
bubbles.
The adults have their own bubbles too.
Our new group is one big bubble.
When we are at school, we need to
stay in our own bubbles.
We don’t want to get too close to
someone else or their bubble will pop!
When we come to school, we will say
goodbye to our parents and go into
class.
When we go inside, we will clean our
hands.
We will stay in our new group with
our adults inside our bubble.
Our classrooms will look a little
different but we will have our own seat
or area where we can keep our things.
School will give us everything we need
so we only need to bring a bottle of
water and a coat from home.
The adults are looking forward to
teaching us.
They will help us to learn from inside
their bubble.
They are going to teach us new games
and activities we can play so that we
don’t burst someone else’s bubble.
There are signs on the ground to show
us how to stay apart in our lines and
walking around so we don’t get too
close.
We will need to clean our hands more
often to keep the germs away.
When we cough or sneeze we will
cover our mouths or catch it in our
elbow like this.
We will put our tissue in the bin and
clean our hands.
Some people in school might be
wearing a mask.
It’s OK and we don’t need to worry
about them, they are the same
underneath!
When we go to the toilet, we need to
give everyone space so we don’t burst
their bubble.
We will wash our hands like our
teachers have taught us.
We will dry our hands with a paper
towel and put it in the bin.
At lunchtime, we will eat our packed
lunches from home or school in the
classroom.
At the end of the day, we line up and
our parents will come and collect us.
If we are in Year 6 we might go home
by ourselves!
Can you remember what to
do to keep everyone safe?
We are looking
forward to seeing you
soon!
