January 9, 2020 A Note From the Principal: Welcome Back: We have had a wonderful start after the winter break. Teachers had two amazing days of training and planning. It was GREAT seeing all the students on Wednesday with their smiling faces and hugs...I missed that so much! Our district’s climate survey is open. Please take a few minutes to complete this short survey. Your feedback is very helpful as we make plans for our school. Parent Survey--English Parent Survey--Spanish I have included the shared input matrix again because I want you to know how we value your input and use it to help improve systems and processes to strengthen Forest Creek Elementary. I appreciate everyone who has taken a few minutes to complete the short paper surveys we have by our Raptor system. One of the suggestions was to add the Coyote Call to our website. We will be taking steps to do that shortly! Thank you. Shared Input: If the saying “two heads are better than one” is true, than many heads are even stronger. Throughout this school year, I have made an intentional effort to increase shared leadership and shared decision making. This effort includes the entire community of stakeholders. To help clarify why family input is important and how it is used to make decisions, the Forest Creek Leadership team put together the following chart: Parent Input Matrix Decisions made by Forest Creek Elementary where parent input will be sought and considered in the decision. Mentors Needed!

Have you ever thought about how you can make a difference in a child's life? You can! Round Rock Independent School District has an opportunity that will allow you to help a student here at Forest Creek!

Mentors are already having a positive effect on our students. They are truly valued and adored. We currently have 3 students who desire to have a mentor at this time. This would be a commitment of visiting with them during lunch time (about 30 minutes) once a week. Thank you so much for considering.

PTA NEWS!

Calling all Forest Creek families! We are needing your assistance to continue to help make our Talent Show a successful one! We are looking for your child's group, sport, extra curricular activity, organization, etc to assist in selling concessions during the Talent Show. A local cheer group provided help last year and sold pizza, chips, soda, etc and it worked out wonderfully for the cheer group and our school! All sales proceeds will go to you child's group/organization and would be considered fundraising for your child and or children. You will need to arrive the at the school by 5pm February 7th, 2020. You will also need to help with clean up of any of the concession items after the event ends around 8:30pm. We are looking for two groups this year! If you are interested, please contact Liz Levett at [email protected]. The PTA will hold a drawing if there are several entries in January and you will be contacted if you have been chosen.
