Ways you can prepare for camp…

Early in Term 3 our grade 3/4 students will have the opportunity to go on camp. For many students this

will be their first camp, and possibly their first trip for multiple nights away from home. To help make this

experience as successful as possible for the students there are many things that you could do to prepare

your child for camp.

Sleepovers at cousins, grandparents and friends’ houses.

Practise using a knife and fork, and emphasise table manners at home and when eating at a

restaurant.

Shower and understand the importance of having a shower on camp.

Discuss camp with them, and how they are feeling about sleeping in a new place with their

friends.

Packing and re-packing their bags to practise keeping track of their belongings.

Discuss which soft toy/teddy they will be taking with them to keep them company at night time.
