TRIO Success Coaches
Each new TRIO participant will be assigned to a Success Coach
Participants and coaches will meet weekly
The coach will work with student’s to create an academic plan
The coach will monitor each students’ progress

Will provide tutoring in their area of expertise
Will serve as a resource for participants in the tutoring labs
Will assist student’s with checkAppointments software
Will receive tutoring registration forms

Tutoring is available for the following subjects and courses: English: DRE 098, English 111, 112, 113, 114, 231, 232, 241, 242 Math: DMA 040, DMA 050, DMA 060, MAT 143, MAT 171, MAT 172, MAT 121, MAT 122 Tutoring sessions are for 1 subject per week for a 60 minute session.
Tutoring appointment procedures: First time only, register with checkAppointments, link located on TRIO-Student Support
Services BlackBoard site. Select Subject, Tutor and time slot. You may book a new tutoring session up to 3 hours before your requested time. Book 1 session per subject per week. You will receive an email appointment confirmation, then a text reminder 24 hours
before your session. You must log into checkAppointments to reschedule or cancel your tutoring
appointment, you must give at least 3 hours’ notice of a cancellation. Failure to cancel your tutoring appointment or more than 2 cancellations/absences may
result in loss or modifications of your tutoring privileges. Tutoring process:
Bring your syllabus to each tutoring session. Bring your book, notes and other relevant materials to your session. Homework assignments must be completed before each session. Tutoring is not a time to
complete homework. Tutoring is not a substitute for attending class or for studying outside of class.
By signing this form, I agree to the procedures and processes included. This does not guarantee you a tutoring appointment. Tutoring is subject to student and tutor availability. Supplemental Grant Aid
A grant award available only to active TRIO –Student Support Services participants who:
Has been a member of TRIO-Student Support Services for a minimum of 1 semester.
Completes an application
Attend seminars
Receive Pell grant (Federal Government Regulation)

A variety of educational and social skills seminars will be offered each semester
Both in person and online

TRIO Leadership Council(formerly TRIO Student Association + Student
Ambassadors)
The student Association and the Student Ambassador program are being combined into the TRIO Leadership Council. Goal: develop your leadership skills.
The key duty/expectation is to facilitate monthly TRIO new student orientations
The leadership council members will each chair a committee and recruit members from active TRIO participants

Standards of Academic Progress
Maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least a 2.0 each semester as computed by the Financial Aid Office-this may be different than your transcript GPA.
Complete a minimum of 67% of cumulative credit hours attempted each semester (if the student has attempted 50 credit hours, the student must earn credit for at least 33 hours).
Maximum Time Frame—Must complete program of study in a timeframe not to exceed 150 percent of the published length of the program for full-time students (if the academic program length requires 60 credit hours, maximum timeframe cannot exceed 90 hours attempted).
