Transcript of Weight and balances 2
Today we are going to learn about:› Making Predictions› How to use a spring scale› Testing predictions› Recording Results› The weights of some common classroom
objects.
Let’s predict how much it weighs.
Predict means to guess.
When we predict we don’t make wild guesses.
I will write your name and prediction on the board.
We should say:
I predict that the eraser weighs………..
We test our predictions by using the spring scale.
Watch me when I use the spring scale.
You will be doing this with your friends in a moment.
Scientists always recordtheir predictions and results.
Record means writing something down and keeping it for later.
This is how they learn and make new discoveries.
Let’s get into groups of 6 people. Choose 8 classroom objects. Each person should predict the weight of
each object and write it on their paper. Next you should take turns using the
spring scale to test your result. Finally, record your results on your
experiment paper.
