Exploring Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands with Diane Heer Tuesday, February 21, 7pm Enjoy a slideshow and presentation on Diane’s recent trip (September 2005) to the Central Highlands of Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. Ecuador is one of the smallest countries in South America and has a variety of climates, fauna, and volcano's over 20,000 feet. The Galapagos Islands are located 600 miles west of Ecuador in the Pacific Ocean. The islands are home to the Giant Tortoises, Galapagos penguins, marine iguanas, sea lions, blue and red footed boobies, flightless cormorants, and many other species of birds and animals found only in the Galapagos. Come and enjoy the uniqueness of these beautiful islands. Sustainable Landscaping Tuesday, February 28, 7-8:30pm The ideal landscape sustains people by creating aesthetic, emotive, and useful living environments. The ideal landscape also sustains itself with little maintenance by being in tune with natural systems. These ideals are attainable! Lauren Chase-Rowell will explore and suggest methods of landscape design, construction, and maintenance that lead toward sustainable landscapes, promote biological diversity, and follow ecological principles. Presenter: Lauren Chase-Rowell, landscape designer and instructor; experience and background:, 14 years with the UNH Thompson School of Applied Sciences Horticulture Program, 4 years with the University of New Hampshire Office of Sustainability Programs, and now principle owner of Outdoor Rooms: Sustainable and Ecological Landscape Design Services. Exploring Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands

with Diane Heer

Tuesday, February 21, 7pm

Enjoy a slideshow and presentation on Diane’s recent

trip (September 2005) to the Central Highlands of

Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. Ecuador is one of

the smallest countries in South America and has a

variety of climates, fauna, and volcano's over 20,000

feet. The Galapagos Islands are located 600 miles west

of Ecuador in the Pacific Ocean. The islands are home

to the Giant Tortoises, Galapagos penguins, marine

iguanas, sea lions, blue and red footed boobies,

flightless cormorants, and many other species of birds

and animals found only in the Galapagos. Come and

like to put together a "Wall of Honor" for those who are keeping our nation safe. Any person on
