Kids Praise ChoirBack from Finland

The Kids Praise Choir (KPC) went on its first missions trip to Finland in June to take part in the Yippie Children’s Music Festival. Our KPC ensemble joined nearly four hundred kids representing eight countries.

Thanks to your generous giving, this was the first missions trip ever for several who participated. The KPC children were paired with families from the Saalem Church who sheltered and fed them, drove them and loved them for an entire week.

The day after their arrival in Finland, the team visited the sea fortress of Soumenlinna. They had fun together and spent time in prayer before beginning a week packed with outreaches and activities.

Midway through the trip, the KPC had the opportunity to sing on the steps of the parliament of Finland, where local leaders spoke about the need to “listen to the voices of the children.” It rained early in the day, but the Lord pushed back the rain clouds and turned it into a perfect day. The parade that followed stopped traffic and turned heads as the children from all the choirs marched through town in their bright yellow shirts, singing the entire way.

The KPC children also sang and shared their testimonies at an outreach in a park and a local church. On their final day in Finland, they had a picnic with the children and families of all who participated. Glory to God for what He is doing in and through our children!

The love of God is the “divine drive” that motivates us to share with others. As God’s representatives, we really do not have a choice. The issue is absolutely vital. To experience and report is the most fundamental thing a Christian can do. All God asks is that we report, in our own terms, what He has done for us. We are not all evangelists, but we are all witnesses.

While we refer to Christ’s words in Matthew 28:16–20 as the “Great Commision,” it is in fact the ONLY commission we have been given by Jesus Christ. The church does lots of good things, but our

“real” commission is to bring people to faith in Jesus Christ and to disciple them as true followers of the faith.

Many of us have marked the trail. We have stood at the crossroads. We have viewed great opportunities...some realized, some missed. This generation needs to hear our stories. Our Wednesday night (3rd Wednesday of each month) Authentic Christian Leadership sessions are designed to help us better tell our story to a new generation of Christians. If you can’t be with us, please pray for our success.

This Month @ TSCVBS Sports CampThis month thirty-five eight- to twelve-year-old 3rd through 6th graders will be participating in the Children’s Ministry VBS Sports Camp. This one-week camp will be held at a park in New Jersey, where the kids will start their day with worship and Bible study.They will continue into activites where they will apply Bible lessons through team sports, including soccer, basketball, baseball and football.

A special thank you to those who contributed so that kids who cannot afford it are able to participate in VBS sports camp this year! Last year lives were visibly changed, and we are expecting God to do the same and greater this year!
