“To Know Christ and Make Him Known”

In order to provide youth/family enrichment opportunities at Centennial, we are seeking an enthusiastic individual who would ejoy working with young families to serve as our Coordinator of Faith Development.

Highlights of this new position include:

Recruit, train and support teachers of the Sunday Church School and Adult Forum in their educational leadership roles at Centennial.

Raise awareness among all members that the home, following Luther’s example, is a key place where faith development can take place.

Assist small group ministries such as Families with Young Children, equipping them for growing in discipleship.

Support Youth Ministry, fostering growth in discipleship and faith development.

This position is initially designed for 10-12 hours per week. To carry out this ministry, the Coordinator of Faith Development is expected to be present on most Sunday mornings and some evenings. Please submit resume to info@centenniallutheran.org or mail to PO Box 840, Kimberton PA 19442.

PRAYER LIST

Procedures to request that a name is added to the prayer list are as follows: - Request permission from the individual in need of prayer (as requested by our Synod) - Send an email to: Prayers@centenniallutheran.org or Phone: Joanne Cantwell at 610-933-0341 or Jerene Gladfelter at 610-933-3542 - List the individual’s name and BRIEF description of situation (i.e. chemo, dementia, auto accident, comfort and peace, etc.) - Name of requester and association (brother, co-worker, friend, etc.) - Please advise us when a prayer request is no longer valid A new prayer list is issued at the beginning of each month as a bulletin insert. In addition, we have an email list of individuals desiring to be on the Prayer Chain to receive these requests. Please update us by the 25th of each month to ensure that your request is listed. Members Assistance Program Please remember to return your completed volunteer form so that the team can compile a list of resources for when a need arises. There is a basket in the Narthex or you can give your form to Ron Allen or leave in the church office.

Choir Picnic will be held at the home of John and Nancy Miller (2047 Kimberton Rd.) on Saturday, August 6 at 2:00 PM. All choir members are invited (Chancel Choir, Handbells, Praise Team). Beverages and main course will be provided; please bring a salad or dessert to share.

Vacation Bible School is next week! VBS will be held on Monday, July 11; Wednesday, July 13; and Friday, July 15 from 6:00 – 8:30 PM at Centennial. The theme is “A Pow Wow with Jesus.” All ages are welcome to come join in the fun, adults included! In an effort to help the VBS team plan, please register by July 7 by calling the church office (610-933-1528) or Dory Frain (484-881-2727).

Adult Forum Sunday mornings We’ll meet in the fellowship hall following wor-

ship to discuss current topics of interest. So grab a cup of coffee and a snack and

join us!

Save your coffee canisters Please save your coffee canisters and bring them in to church so

that we can use them to transport the altar flowers. Thank you!

Keep saving your pennies! Penny Sunday is coming in September. Money collected goes to support the Navajo School in Rock Point, Arizona.

Grandma’s Attic The months are flying by and we are already thinking about our 23rd

Annual Christmas Crafts Festival on Saturday, November 14 from 9 AM until 2 PM.

Grandma needs a new supply of items in good, “sell-able” condition for her attic so if

you do any sorting or cleaning out at your house, remember Grandma and put aside

things that we can sell in November. Popular items are jewelry, toys, dolls, dishes,

kitchen items, purses, accessories, knick-knacks, videos, DVDs, jigsaw puzzles, books,

games, lamps and all kinds of collectibles in good condition and mostly small enough to fit on a table.

We have sold curtains, tablecloths and sheets in excellent condition. Due to limited storage space at the

church, please keep your treasures at home until the week before the crafts festival. There are also reg-

istration forms in the church office if you are interested in renting a table. Email rebec-

Mom’s House Christmas in July Although Mom’s House was thankful to be blessed with do-nations during the Christmas season, as summer is underway, their cupboards are bare. If you are able to help out, they are looking for some donations both for their summer program and for Back to School time. Here are their most urgent needs: financial donations in any amount; grocery gift cards (Acme, Giant); Wawa gift cards (client gas fund); Target, Wal-Mart, Dollar

Tree gift cards (center supplies); postage stamps; HP ink 22 and 27. Mom’s House Phoenixville provides free childcare for low-income single parents completing their full-time education (610-935-7711: www.momshouse-phoenixville.org).

Travel the World…and never leave home SHARE! Northeast is looking for volunteer host families for foreign students who would like to learn first-hand about the American Way of Life. Students (ages 15-18) from Europe, Asia, Central and South America arrive in August to spend a semester or academic year studying at local high schools. The SHARE! Program, sponsored by Educational Resource Development Trust (ERDT), a nonprofit educational foundation established in 1974, was created to provide opportunities for greater understanding be-tween Americans and peoples of the world.
