Local produce have to be championed, and seasonality too! There should be no such things as importing fresh cherries from South America in the winter months!!! Not only is this not viable, it pollutes the air and they don’t really taste great! And even if they were to taste great, isn’t it what this is all about? Waiting patiently for the time when the season of a product comes again and all the excitement behind it! That’s the true respect of the product, of the farmers and of our planet. GENERAL PRODUCT UPDATE “Opportunity to Develop a Circular Economy – There may be an opportunity for individuals and organisations to leverage the benefits of the immediate community instead of global supply chains, adopting principles of redesign, reduce, reuse and recycle (i.e. circular economy concepts). Food supply chains of the future may shift back to seasonal produce and local growth and supply.” https://www.fpcfreshtalkdaily.co.uk/single- post/2020/05/11/Opinion-Consumer-habits-in-the- food-industry-are-changing

UK products continued:FUNDRAISING FOR KING’S HOSPITAL

As the fundraising pot gets bigger, the amount of fruit and veg we are able to send to these two hospitals gets bigger!By donating you are not just helping the nurses but also the chain of the produce industry... from the farmer to the transporter and also S&B.

We still need to fundraise more, thanks for your generosity and support to King’s College Hospital.

A big round of applause to all of us with our donations and also for reaching £43000! And a big thank you to Jill and all the people around her for organising all this!
