Weekly Lesson Week of: 10/13/13 Series: The Unquenchable Worshipper Lesson: “The Undefeated Worshipper” Text: 2 Chronicles 20:1-30 (NLT) Introduction: What would you most like to change about your circumstances today? Most people would like to change something in their lives: perhaps their job, a family situation, or the state of their health. Some would like to see changes in their finances; others might like to move to a new home. In a rat percentages of cases, the changes are one that the person believes will make him or her happier, more at peace, or more secure. The Bible challenges us not to seek happiness, peace, and security in our lives, but rather victory in lives. We are called to live victoriously because we are in association with the Victor of all life, Jesus Christ. We should proclaim with our lives as well as our words, “Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Cor. 15:57). This week’s sermon and Connection Group lesson will explore how a Christian is able to live above circumstances, not under the circumstances, as we commonly say. ***Remember to listen to this week’s sermon, review the Sermon Notes Sheet and complete the following questions before attending your discussion group.
