EAT RIGHT FOR LIFE Series Facilitated by Bonnie Willis

Saturday mornings from 9 - 10 AM

Join us on Saturday mornings from 9 – 10 AM in the Fellowship Hall of Richville United Church of Christ. Bonnie Willis, a Registered & Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist, will be sharing her series “Eat Right for Life”! The emphasis of the series will be on eating right – making changes in your meals that improve your health!

You can attend any or all Saturdays at NO COST!

February 17: Tips for Losing Weight and Keeping It off

February 24: Making Healthy Eating Part of Your Total Lifestyle

March 3: Physical Activity is Key to Living Well

For questions, please contact Bonnie Willis at [email protected]. You can also call the church office at (330) 832-1891.

On Tuesday, February 20 (at 6 PM), the Spiritual Life Committee will be cleaning out the 2 classrooms across the hall from the patio room. If anyone has valuables stored in these rooms which they want saved, PLEASE remove them from these rooms by February 19. After this date the fate of all items left in these rooms will be decided by the committee. There are old Bibles, books, and other miscellaneous items in these rooms, so if you think you have a use for them or know of someone else who could use anything, please go downstairs and take a look.

If you have any questions please see Karen Gerber. We are working along with Christian Ed to develop a more “user friendly” Sunday School Area. Thank you so much for your cooperation!

Once a month (beginning in March) we will have a YOUTH SERVICE SUNDAY. All youth will stay in worship (The nursery will be staffed but we will not have Sunday School). The first Sunday we will be doing this is March 18.

This year’s adult Lenten devotional is titled “LIVING THE GOSPEL LIFE: THE SEASON OF LENT”. The daily devotions in this booklet highlight the concepts of being sent, demonstrating faith in action, and being mission-minded each day of Lent. Suggested activities are associated with preparing our hearts, souls and minds to reflect on the suffering, death and resurrection of Christ and his mission for us.

For our teens we will have available “THE ACT OF LENT”. This booklet of Lenten devotions for teens and young adults first puts attention on the loving action God took to claim us as his own and then on our active response to God’s saving grace. Daily action-themed Scripture and activity prompts accompany each reflection.

Lastly, for our children we will have “JESUS LOVES ME!”. These 47 devotions for children ages 6-12 and their families each highlight the saving love and daily guidance we receive from our Good Shepherd, Jesus, who lovingly leads us throughout our lives past the cross and toward the promise of life everlasting. The 23rd Psalm and other biblical shepherd stories help children learn of Jesus’ ever-present love.

Printed copies of all these devotionals will be available outside the sanctuary doors on Ash Wednesday (February 14).

*Digital copies of these devotionals also available for you to purchase (for your Kindle and/or Nook). Look for a printed copy of the links in the Welcome Center!
