While many people know Currumbin RSL has won many varied awards over the years, including best Club, best dining and best RSL, many don’t know that its functions department, Waterside Events has also been awarded many accolades. The past two years have been big. Firstly Waterside Events was awarded third Best Club Reception Venue in Australia through the Australian Bridal Industry Academy (ABIA) and as a finalist in Queensland in the same category. In 2015 they were finalists for best Function Coordinator and missed out on the top spot of Best Club Reception Venue by a mere 0.59%... The ABIA’s are a much sought-after award as they are determined by the votes of past brides. Over 30,000 brides vote on wedding suppliers based on the quality of product, quality of service, value for money and the attitude of the staff. To be awarded 3rd best in the nation has been a great honour for Event Manager Caroline Tas and her team and reflects the Club’s glowing reputation for provid- ing high quality events and functions. The events team are all sticklers for detail, have a pas- sion for creating memorable events and work closely with all brides and grooms. Caroline and her assistant Natalie have been working together for nine years and they are both creative people who like to think out of the box and keep themselves updated with the latest industry trends. The event rooms were also awarded Best Redevelop- ment under $1M at the 2014 Club’s Queensland awards and the renovation speaks for itself.
