WELCOME TO DANCE HYPE!

HI! My name is Georgia Kelly, and I am the principal and owner of

DANCE HYPE. I have been teaching dance since 2008, and have taught at 5

different studios in the Southern Queensland region since then. I started

dancing at the age of 3 and my love and passion for all styles has compelled me

to open the studio here in Murphys Creek, with possibilities of opening a

second in the Toowoomba/Lockyer Valley area in the future. I still attend

regular dance lessons and compete in eisteddfods seasonally, and am always

seeking the trends and newest teaching techniques in dance all the time. This

is vital for keeping the standard of classwork high and finding opportunities to

give students a challenge!

I endeavour to educate was well as entertain all of my students, as I

believe dancing should always be fun. A healthy in-class learning attitude

often comes naturally when the students are enjoying themselves.

Please fill in the enrolment form to the best detail possible so you can

stay up to date with all current news and events. These details are important in

the case of any changes that may need to be made as we go along.

I am sure you agree, when I say I am pleased to see kids returning eager

to participate in this year’s fun. It is through word-of-mouth that we will grow,

so please let anyone know about the studio who may be interested. We have a

Facebook page, as I know a lot of the Murphys Creek folk use this site, so just

search “Dance Hype Murphys Creek”, and you will find us. Feel free to share

this page with friends and family as we will be posting regularly regarding news

and events (maybe even some pics & videos for family to see!). I have

published a website for the studio also, and you can find this at

DANCE HYPE TIMETABLE

You will see some slight changes in the timetable this year, and this is

due to the fact that our students are enhancing their skills, and some are trying

new classes in different styles. I encourage all students to try a new style this

year and expand their knowledge as quite often, the skills learnt in one class

can assist in another class. However, depending on class numbers by the end

of term 1, this timetable is subject to change, so stay posted!

Please check over the below timetable, and let me know ASAP if there

are any issues regarding attendance due to things like school buses, other

sports etc. Classes start on Wednesday the 5th February 2014 at 3.30pm. I will

have invoices out by Week 2 of Term 1 so you can get everything in order for

the New Year of dance! See you then

UNIFORM LIST AND ORDER FORM

Below is an order form and uniform list for what your child will need to wear to dance in their respective

classes. I will be selling these items for Dance Hype students, and often when I buy in bulk, it will end up

cheaper in the end for you also. You can slowly get your collection together, but with us becoming more well-

known, I would like to a uniform of some description enforced. If you would rather to go out and purchase

these items yourself from another retailer, you are very welcome. Payment for items will need to be made

upon receiving them from myself, just in case I cannot fill a specific order and you are required to purchase

from somewhere else. There may be the possibility that I can get my hands on some Second-Hand items, and I

will be selling them during class each week upon request if this is case. I have several branded DANCE HYPE

polo shirts for sale and these can be ordered at any stage throughout the term. Any hassles, do not hesitate to

contact me.

PLEASE NOTE – When entering size, please enter your child’s “street-wear size” into this form.

(e.g – a size 3 school shoe may end up being a size 1 dance shoe, depending on the brand. To keep things

standard I can normally judge from a “street-wear size”, what they will end up needing. If you can also supply a

foot length in centimetres, this is very helpful also.)

FEE LIST:

(Please note that all term fees will change with the term, and how many weeks

we run for each term. You will normally never be charged for anything more

than the fees for a 12 week term.)

1-3x 30min class per week $8.00 p/class

(Per term = app. $80.00 (10 week term))

4-6x 30min class per week $7.50 p/class

7+ 30min class per week $7.00 p/class

1 x 45 minute class = 12.00

1 x 60 minute class = 16.00

*This is calculated on a family basis, so it is calculated on the number of

classes completed by all the children in the family. Please contact me for

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By enrolling your child you agree to the following:

CONDUCT: Good behaviour and good sportsmanship is to be encouraged at all times at Dance Hype. This includes both parents and students. Any behaviour from a parent or student that is deemed unacceptable by the Principal will be dealt with to the Principal’s discretion in a professional manner. Bullying is not tolerated at Dance Hype, and such conduct can result in a student being expelled. If a matter cannot be resolved through a number of attempts at professional disciplinary action, the same consequences may apply. Liaison with parents and students alike will be maintained in order to resolve any issues as they arise. Also, no student may participate or be enrolled in any dance-related activity at another studio (including workshops and summer-schools), without the prior notification and due consent of the principal. If you are unsure when this rule would apply, then please enquire with the principal, in order to attain a decision.

FEES & OTHER PAYMENTS:

All class fees are to be paid for promptly and before the due date listed on the invoice you will receive each

term. Other fees may arise regarding extra classes, performances and opportunities the students may have to

expand their dance experiences. These opportunities will often be optional, however, if a student participates, then

payment once again needs to be made promptly and before specified deadlines.

Any issues regarding the payment of class fees may be taken up with the principal, and if a payment is

outstanding, reminder notices will be sent out in an attempt to retrieve outstanding payments. In the case of

outstanding payments, arrangements may be made by the principal for a payment-plan to be inplemented. Once 3

reminder notices have been issued, further action may be taken by the business GK Studios.

Unless prior arrangements have been made with the principal, the business has the right to seek further

action with the enrolled student’s parent or guardian in order to see a payment made. Depending on the amount

outstanding, the issue may need to be forwarded onto a credit control company. By signing the enrolment form you

agree to the studio’s fee-related terms and conditions.

ADVERTISING AND IMAGERY:

In the event of a publication opportunity or advertisements for the studio, images of Dance Hype students may be

used. By signing this enrolment form you agree to allow images and video footage of your child to be used by the

Principal of the studio for professional reasons only. Images and videos may become available to you for purchase in

the event of concerts and performances. Notification of such events will be provided as they arise.

CONCERTS:

Each year an end of year concert will be held to showcase the childrens’ work for parents, friends and family to see.

In order to bring this performance to fruition, things like costume hire and a concert fee will be issued to have this

event run to the best quality possible. Concert participation is optional, and class-time will be used for preparation,

as well as additional rehearsals closer to the date, some being at the performance venue itself.

EXAMS & OTHER PERFORMANCES:

Exams and Eisteddfods may become opportunities open to students in the future. The principal must use his/her

discretion when selecting students to participate in order to produce the best outcomes possible for students and

the studio alike. Exam and eisteddfod participation will be invitation-only, and the principal’s decision is final. Exam

students will more than likely have to attend additional classes at another affiliated studio in order to be eligible to

sit an exam so please keep this travel requirement in mind when committing upon invitation.
