The Republic of Yemen participated Tuesday in the opening of sessions of the 73rd Round of the UN’s General Assembly in New York with a high-level delegation headed by President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

President Hadi is going to deliver our country’s word during the sessions. He is also set to meet on the sidelines of the gathering with a number of leaders and heads of the participating delegations.

The UN Secretary General Antonio Gutterres took part in the ceremonies of launching the Round’s activities .Heads of states, governments and delegations from 193 countries are participating in the event.

His Excellency (HE) President of the Republic Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi asserted the deep fraternal Yemeni-Kuwaiti relations that proved steady in different stages and circumstances which reflects the common solidarity in dealing with the risks and challenges that Arab nation has been facing.

HE highly praised Kuwait’s supportive stances alongside Yemen and its support for Yemen’s national consensus and constitutional legitimacy in different international platforms including International Security Council that the State of Kuwait is now a periodical member now.

President Hadi’s statement came as he met Monday in New York with Deputy Premier,

Foreign Minister of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sobah Khaled Al-Sobah on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly’s sessions.

For his part, Sheikh Sobah reiterated Kuwait’s support for Yemen and its legitimate leadership in order to achieve the Yemeni peoples’ aspirations for peace, security and stability.

The meeting touched upon several topics of common interests.

President Hadi participates in “Nelson Mandela” summit for peace in New York

His Excellency (HE) President of the Republic Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi took part in “ Nelson Mandela” Summit for Peace. The gathering held Monday in New York on the sidelines of the 73 Round of the UN General Assembly.

The UN General Assembly decided to devote this summit to honor the significant peace efforts made by the late African leader Nelson Mandela who had been distinguished himself as a peace advocate.

Large number of leaders

from different parts of the world arrived in New York to contribute to the 73 round of the UN General Assembly’s sessions which will start its sessions tomorrow, Tuesday and continue until the first of October.

Vice President Ali Mohsen Saleh has sent a cable of congratulations to the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and to whole Saudi government and people on the 88th anniversary of the kingdom’s National Day, September 23.

The Vice President hailed the major developments Saudi Arabia has achieved on all levels under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

He spoke highly of the courageous and honest attitudes of Saudi Arabia toward others including Yemen, citing the decisive role of Saudi Arabia in repelling the Persian vandalistic project in Yemen.

He said that the brotherly ties between Yemen and Saudi Arabia were consolidated even more by the great sacrifices Saudi Arabia offered during the Decisive Storm and Hope Restoration operations in Yemen.

Vice President is acquainted with developments in

DhamarVice President Ali Mohsen Saleh has been acquainted by Governor of Dhamar Ali al-Qawsi on the latest developments in the province and efforts of the people in supporting the national army.The meeting dealt with efforts for restoring the state and its institutions in framework of battle of ending the coup led

by President Hadi with support from the Arab Coalition and contribution and sacrifices made by honest Yemeni people.The Vice President urged Governor al-Qawsi on doubling efforts and unifying internal fronts and mobilizing political and social efforts for supporting the national army for facing Iran-backed Houthi

VP meets with mayor of Sana’a, governor of Socotra Archipelagos

Vice President (Lt Gen) Ali Mohsssen Saleh met Monday separately with the mayor of capital Sana’a Maj. General Abdulghani Gameal and governor of Socotra Archipelagos Ramzi Mahroos.

Gameal briefed the Vice President on the situations in the capital Sana’a which still under Iran-backed Houthi militia’s control where the populations suffer the militia’s atrocities on the daily basis.

(Lt Gen) Mohssen hailed significant military advancements have been gained by the government’s troops backed Saudi-led Arab Coalition Forces.

For His part, the governor of Socotra reported to the Vice President about the situations in the archipelagos and underway efforts have been exerted by the local authority to reinstate the basic services and to improve living conditions of the population.

The Committee tasked with

fixing the national economy

held a meeting Wednesday

presided over by the Prime

Minister Dr Ahmed Obeid

Bin-Dhager.

The meeting devoted to discuss

the unjustified implications of

the national currency exchange

rates against foreign currencies

as a result of speculations in

the exchange rates, besides

other factors.

The meeting, which included

the Finance Minister and the

Governor of the Central Bank

of Yemen (CBY), has approved

several measures aimed to

manage the consequences

of the increasingly growing

exchange rates against the

value of the national currency.

Most important measure is that

the CBY is going to open billing

credits which traders submit to

the commercial banks during

the current month September

and next month October on

the basis of averages exchange

rates of monetary market

by the banks and exchange

business companies far from

speculation as follow:

-Offering exchangers services

to cover the billing credits at

exchange rate 558 YR (Yemeni

Rial) for $1.

-Ending procedures of

verifying the credits and

making the decision of

acceptance of rejection within

three days only.

The meeting urge all traders

to get the necessary financial

services to import the

commodities from the banks

to benefit from this decision

and to maintain the stability of

the national economy, and to

reduce pressure upon currency

market and stop speculation.

The Prime Minister stated that

the government is working its

own best within its capacities

to maintain the national

currency value and stability.

He also urged the security

apparatuses to deal firmly with

the exchange companies which

proved lawbreakers.

Foreign Minister Khalid Alyemany affirmed the Yemeni government’s commitment to work with international organizations and partners in developing strategies to end malnutrition.

He made the remarks during

his participation at the United Nations General Assembly High-Level meeting on “Addressing Malnutrition in Yemen.

He said that the government is working to facilitate the access of all Yemeni regions to aid. He

said that lifting the suffering of the Yemeni people in light of the Houthi militia’s stubbornness requiresall United Nations agencies and the Yemeni government to jointly raise the level of their coordination at all levels.

Monday with his Saudi counterpart Adel Al-

Jobair the latest developments about the situation

in Yemen.

The two ministers’ talks held on the sidelines of

the UN General Assembly’s 37 Round in New

York. Al-Yemany’s conversations with Al-Jobair

focused on the government’s efforts to counter

the Houthi putschist militia and to resume peace

consultations to establish security and peace on

the basis of the three terms of reference: GCC’s

Initiative, its operational plan, outcomes of the

National Dialogue and UNSCRs, namely 2216.

The meeting also touched upon the Iranian

interferences in the region including Iran’s

support to the Houtnis and supplies the militia

with weapons and ballistic missiles, a matter poses

existential threats to Yemen’s national security

and the Kingdom’s as well as Arabian Gulf and

International maritime navigation in the Red Sea

and Bab Al-Mandeb.

For his part, Al-Jobair reiterates the Kingdom’s

continuous support to Yemen in different fields.

He also stated that the Kingdom is very keen on

the political solution that based on the Kingdom’s

permanent position and the three terms of

Challenges facing liberated areas discussed

Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Interior Ahmad al-Maisari discussed with Deputy Minister of Electricity Mubarak al-Tamimi and Deputy Governor of Lahj Ahmad Saeed the ongoing power projects in Aden, Lahj, Abyan and Dhale’ and Yafe’ districts.

Minister al-Maisari urged

hard work, solving obstacles and conducting maintenance work of the infrastructure for implementing constructional works in power plants of Aden, Lahj, Abyan and Dhale’ and districts of Yafe’.

He confirmed that the service projects are on the top list of the government’s priorities,

pointing out that the state will provide everything possible for solving power problems in the liberated provinces.

The meeting dealt with acts of seizing housing lands assigned for a complex to the electricity employees and Deputy Prime Minister ordered imminent stop of these acts.

Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Interior Ahmad al-Maisari discussed on Monday with the Head of the Strategic Studies Center of the Military Forces General Naji Obeid the role of the deference apparatus in facing challenges and crises in the liberated areas.

Obeid touched upon activities of the center in making use of researches and studies in facing the challenges of the current period, pointing to a number of difficulties facing the center and means

of tackling them.

Maisari highlighted efforts of the center in spreading awareness on the significance of the scientific research and studies for facing current challenges facing the country.

He pointed to importance of the scientific research in facing current and future challenges and the process of facing them, as well as integration of efforts for facing currency devaluation.

Minister of Human Rights Dr Mohammed Asker debated the findings of the report by the UN Panel of Experts about human rights in Yemen. Discussions held Monday in Geneva. Fatah explores Turkish Red

Crescent’s relief aidMinister of Local Administration—Chairman of Supreme Relief Committee—Abdulraqeep Fatah met Saturday with the president of the Turkish Red Crescent Dr Kerem KINIK.

Fatah’s conversations with KINIK focused on aspects of relief aid and projects that Turkish Red Crescent Society can offer to Yemen.

Humanitarian situation in Yemen and the consequences of the Houthi militia’s were touched upon.

The Minister explored the continuation of Turkish

Houthi group seeks to impose its convictions by weapons,

says ambassadorYemen’s Ambassador to Poland Dr Merfat Mujjali said “ Houthi putschist militia doesn’t accept coexistence and tolerance, this is part of their doctrine that they are fighting the Yemenis to impose upon them by weapons”.

Speaking at Yemen’s Conference” Challenges of Political Solution, Humanitarian Action, Re-establish Stability and Reconstruction” held in New

York Mujjali added” War in Yemen didn’t start in March 2015 but in June 2004 with first bullet fired by Houthi militia against the state’s institution and soldiers, with first house Houthis demolished in Sa’ada”.

Mujjali appealed for the International community to intervene to prevent Houthis’ group from coercively dispatching schools’ pupils and Universities’ students to battlefields.

The Permanent Representative of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations in Geneva Jamal Al-Ghanaim said” Enabling the legitimate Yemeni government to take control by implementing the International resolutions is the only single way to advance peace efforts , meet the humanitarian needs and achieve stability and security in Yemen”.

The Kuwait’s envoy criticized

the report by Team of Regional and International Experts about human rights situation in Yemen.

Kuwait asserted that humanitarian situations in Yemen general and in Hodiedah in—in particular—reached unprecedented stages of daily suffering of the Yemeni people.

This came in the State’s of Kuwait word at the Security Council’s session held Friday to discuss the situation in Yemen which delivered by the permanent representative of Kuwait to the UN Mansour Al-Otaibi .

According to the Kuwait News Agency Kuna Al-Otaibi

said:” Our meeting today on the deterioration of the humanitarian situations in Yemen is the expected result of failure of the political efforts of the crisis, which caused by the absence of the delegation of Houthi group of the round of consultations which was scheduled to be held on September 6,2018”.

Al-Otaibi added that the coalition was working to give the efforts of the UN Secretary General to Yemen time and opportunity to bring the Yemeni parties back to the dialogue table

despite the security challenges represented by Houthi group practices that threaten the peace and regional security through control over ports of Hodeidah and its threat to the safety of international maritime traffic.

Al-Otaib confirmed that ballasitic missiles attacks on neighboring countries can not be tolerated as well as the threat posed against international shipping routes in Bab Al-Mandab and the Red Sea, which will have negative impact on international peace and security.

Army experts extract 500 Houthi-

laid landmines in Sa’ada

The armed forces experts have extracted 500 mines and improvised explosive devices left by the Houthi militia in Ketaf in Sa’ada before fleeing the district against the advance of the army.

A military source told the Defense Ministry’s news site “26 September” that “the engineering teams removed about 200 anti-vehicle landmines and 300

anti-personnel mines including camouflaged ones.

The Yemeni army experts have unearthed and dismantled more than tens of thousands of various landmines Houthis planted in warfronts but the rebels’ carefully camouflaged landmines in residential areas have killed and injured hundreds of civilians over the past three years.
