Сьогодні Святе Євангеліє розповідає нам притчу Христову п ро виноградник і виноградарів . Це найсумніша , найбільш гірка причта, яка змальовує нам жорстоку правду про людський рід. Цю притчу розказав Христос за кілька днів до Своєї смерти на хресті , тому значення цієї притчі зрозуміле. Земля зі всіма своїми багатствами - виноградник ; і власником є Бог. Виноградарі - це людство, слуги - це пророки і апостоли, син господаря - це Син Божий, Ісус Христос . Читаючи Старий і Новий Завіти, ми бачимо історію людства. У цій короткій притчі Господь створив Землю і всі її багатства і дав у користування людям. Він посилає Своїх посланців, щоб остерігати народ перед неморальним , грішним життям, перед Божою карою. Але люди не хочуть їх прийняти, не бажають слухати і в своїй жорстокості багатьох із них вбивають . Вкінці посилає Господь Сина Свого Єдинородного і люди повстають проти Нього і вбивають Його на хресті . Замість вдячності і любові - жадібність , ліноші , гордість і жорстокість . І це стосується не тільки давніх часів, а й будь-якого часу. Якщо ми з вами замислимося , то відразу збагнемо, що й нам усе дано, що ми не є повними власниками того, що маємо. І здоров’я нам дане, і саме життя нам дане. Але сьогодні ми його маємо, а завтра можемо втратити. І багато в цього, що ми маємо, є даром Божим. А оскільки це дар Божий, то ми повинні його примножувати і якось віддячувати Богові . Людство досліджує і підкоряє собі природу. Наукові досягнення і технічний прогрес засліплює людство і людина думає, що вона є ( закінчення на 2-ій стор.) ARE WE GOOD “TENANTS OF THE VINEYARD”? Today, the Holy Gospel relates Christ’s parable about the vineyard and the tenants of the vineyard. This is the saddest, most bitter parable which displays to us the cruelty of mankind. Christ relates this parable a few days before His death on the cross, so its meaning is quite clear. The Earth, with all its riches, is the vineyard and its owner is God. Mankind represents the tenants of the vineyard; the servants are the prophets and apostles; the owner’s son is the Son of God, Jesus Christ. In reading the Old and New Testaments, we see the history of mankind in this short parable. The Lord created the Earth and all its riches and gave it for the benefit of mankind. He sends His messengers to steer mankind away from immorality, sinfulness and the wrath of God. But mankind doesn’t want to receive the messengers, doesn’t want to heed them, and, in its cruelty, kills many of them. Finally, the Lord sends His Only Begotten Son and mankind rises up against Him and crucifies Him. Instead of gratitude and love we see greed, indolence, pride and cruelty. This is true not only in past history, but at any point in history, including today. If we think about it, we realize immediately that everything is given to us. We are not the sole owners of all we possess. Health is given to us, as is life itself. Today we have it and tomorrow we can lose it. Much of what we have is a gift from God. Since it is a gift of God, we should strive to make good use of it, in gratitude to the Lord. Mankind studies and subjugates nature. Scientific advances and technological progress blinds us and man thinks that he is the creator and ruler of the world. But then, earthquakes, floods and hurricanes destroy cities and towns. Бог є першопричиною всіх речей.Господь бачить всі наші труди, знає всі
наші діла і думки. Ми користуємося багатствами землі недовго, лише під-час земного життя і маємо робити це добросовісно і справедливо.Тому сьогоднішня притча заставляє нас задуматися: з чим прийдемо до Господа,коли настане час? А також є для нас суворим застереженням, щоб захистити нас від зла і загибелі вічної . Амінь.

Можливість до сповіді перед прощею в суботу під час Вечірні о 5-ї год, вечора, та в неділю від 7до 8 ранку в катедрі.
Виїзд від катедри 5 жовтня о 8:00 ранку;
Прибуття на Святу Гору о 10:30 ранку;
Літургія в 11-й в каплиці святої Терези на 2-му поверсі;
Полуденок в монастирському кафе, або на свіжому повітрі тим, що візьмете з дому;
Хресна дорога о 1-й пополудні;
Молебен о 4-й пополудні;
Виїзд назад до Чикаго о 5 пополудні,
Прибуття до катедри між 7:30-8:00 вечора.
Annual Pilgrimageto Holy HillOctober 17, 2010
Our bus to Holy Hill isquickly filling up. If you would
like to participate in our parish’s annual pilgrimag please come to the parish office
in the cathedral hall beginning September 6th or tothe Rectory office Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 4:00 pm.
Tickets are $25.00 per person and must be paid for inadvance.
For those who are going to make this pilgrimageand would like to go to confession before the trip,there will be priests available after the 5:00 P.M.Vespers Saturday evening or from 7:00 A.M. to 8:00A.M. Sunday morning.
Departure to Holy Hill: 8:00 A.M.
Arrive Holy Hill: 10:30 A.M.
Liturgy: 11:00 A.M. Chapel of St. Therese Level 2
Lunch: In Café or bring your own and picnic
Stations of the Cross: 1:00 P.M.
Moleben: 4:00 P.M.
Departure from Holy Hill: 5:00 P.M.
Arrival in Chicago: 7:30 – 8:00 P.M. (depending ontraffic)
