Weekend Duty Post

• This post will last from 0500 Friday to 0500 Friday the following week

• The names of all Duty Team Members (including BDOs and SDO) are due to Regimental Adjutant NLT Wednesday at 2300 before upcoming the Friday. NO SUBSTITUTIONS AFTER THIS TIME!

Staff Duty Officer

• Responsibilities

• Be the Regimental Staff “point of contact” for all official activities not otherwise addressed by the cadet chain of command or when the Corps is on General Leave. Have overall supervision and accountability for the activities of the BDOs and their respective Company Duty Teams.

SDO Detail Schedule• At the duty team meeting the SDO will hand list of those with

punishments to each CDO and BDO• Friday (after Weekend Duty Briefing)

• Meet with COC, OD, JOD and BDO’s at 1900 in PT Barracks guard shack

• Check to ensure all con rooms are available and prepared before punishments begin

• Supervise cons/tours (spot-check hourly) to ensure that they are being served correctly and that everyone is in the correct location

• Speak with BDO’s to ensure that restrictions are being recorded on a individual level once punishments have ended

• Conduct all-ins for Regimental Staff

• Check to ensure all con rooms are available and prepared before punishments begin

• Punishments will be served at two separate times during the day• Supervise cons/tours (spot-check hourly) to ensure that

they are being served correctly and that everyone is in the correct location

• Speak with BDO’s to ensure that restrictions are being recorded on an individual level once punishments have ended

SDO’s Duties During Punishments

• The SDO will spot check all battalion confinement rooms once hourly to ensure proper conduct of confinements

• Spot check tour walkers once hourly to ensure the proper conduct of tours

• The SDO is responsible to make the decision if the overflow option is required.

• Also responsible for making the call on inclimate weather cons for tours

BDO Responsibilities• Meet with COC, OD, JOD, and SDO at 1900 on Friday in PT Barracks guard shack• Meet with COC, OD, JOD, and SDO at 0700 and 1900 on Saturday in PT Barracks

guard shack• Meet with COC, OD, JOD, and SDO at 0700 on Sunday in PT Barracks guard shack• Take accountability to ensure that proper formations are being conducted by the

CDO’s prior to the beginning of the punishment period (check training schedules)• After formations, BDO’s form tour-walking cadets into a platoon and march

them over to PT Barracks and will take roll once.• After roll call, BDO’s will turn over their cadets to the assigned BDO’s for that

period and cadets will commence marching tours.• Supervise tours and ensure that the procedures for tours are properly followed by

all tour-walking cadets. (Optional tours Sunday)• The BDO’s will submit the Performance Reports of those who are AWOL or

improperly serving tours

BDO Responsibilities cont.

• Meet with the CDO’s to ensure that all they are checking that their cadets are signing their restrictions on CAS• Will report information to the SDO

• Conduct all-ins for designated Battalion Staff• Conduct 1800 4C retreat formation Monday

thru Thursday and march the knobs over to mess

CDO Responsibilities

• Conduct formations in front of company letter ten minutes prior to the beginning of the punishment period (this is mandatory for ALL CDO’s)• Take roll and inspect for proper uniforms

• Following formations, the CDO on Con Duty will create one platoon for all cadets serving cons with each class being a squad• At this time, the designated CDO who will be overseeing

the cons will then march the cadets from their battalion to the assigned classroom and conduct the beginning of punishments in his/her assigned classroom

Junior ResponsibilitiesNCO of the Duty Team:• During optional Sunday Confinements for Football between

0900-1200hrs• Uniform for Confinements: Duty with waist plate and room

in MRI order.• Conduct and lead the formations that occur at the company

letter and at the beginning and the end of the con period. • Physically check rooms with cons, periodically to ensure

cadets are in the right uniform and doing what they are supposed to be doing.

• JUNIORS CHECK THAT CADETS ARE SIGNING FOR RESTRICTIONS

Sophomore Responsibilities

Corporal of the Duty Team:• Assist the NCO/Junior in conducting the formations at the

company letter.• Assist the NCO/Junior in physically checking rooms with cons,

to ensure they are being served correctly.• Monday Cons/Cons for Tours are for in season Athletes only.

Cadets will be in proper Con uniform and room in MRI order. Cadets must be at desk studying and not sleeping

Tours

Procedure:• All tour walkers will serve their tours in PT Barracks• Ten minutes before the start of the first tour period, cadets serving tours will report in front of their company letter in Duty uniform with serviceable gloves, waist plate and rifle to stand by for inspection.• A tour period is defined as the designated three hour period when punishments are served on Wednesday, Friday night, Saturday afternoon, Saturday night and Sunday afternoon for optional tours (for a maximum of 12).•BDOs monitoring tours must record punishments each hour after the top of the hour.

Tours Cont.• Maintain a quiet environment as should be conducted during

disciplinary periods• If Professors or Academic Advisors wish to see a cadet during these

periods, the BDOs will allow and give credit for the tour. The Professor or Academic Advisor will either pick up the cadet in the PT Barracks or write a note to the BDOs with the request and how long the cadet will be absent from the tour period.

• The following will be repeated until the Tour Period is concluded:

o Each tour walker gets a 10 minute break at the end of the tour hour.

o Every tour walker will be in the front sally port at the top of the next tour hour and the BDOs will take roll

Providing Tour Credit• Duty Team Members will have the ability (for the week they are on duty)

to access CAS and assign confinement/Tour Credit. • At the end of the 50 minute period, divide the tour walkers into three

groups for accountability—one for each BDO and SDO to mark present• At the end of each 50 minute period, the BDO/SDO will mark cadets

present for Tours on their phone app, IPAD app or on the computer by going through CAS. The cadet serving the confinement will verify by using his electronic signature (login password).

• This MUST be accomplished in a 20 minute window starting at 50 minspast the hour until 10 minutes past the hour. If not completed, then it must be hand entered by the CDO

• The policy for the SCCC is to get this accomplished during the 20 min period and to NOT have to manually enter the data.

• With three individuals doing this, it is expected that 20 minutes will be enough time to complete before the start of the next tour

• The SDO will make the call for ‘cons for tours’ if the situation calls for it, and cadets will sign for tours while doing cons. (Must clear with Regt. Adjutant before switch is made)

PROCEDURES FOR CONDUCTING CONFINEMENTS IN CLASSROOMS

CONFINEMENTS ARE SAT BY CLASS IN A ROOM ASSIGNED FOR THEM (EARLIER SLIDE)

• The Company Duty SENIOR (NO Juniors or Sophomore) responsible for that period’s confinements will inspect all confined cadets in the battalion.

• At the end of the inspection, the designated Company Duty Officer for that CLASS will form confined cadets into a platoon and march them to their respective Battalion Classrooms.

• Once in the, the designated Company Duty Officer will take roll and the confined cadets will be seated and begin to study without interacting with their fellow cadet.

• The Company Duty officer will be responsible for maintaining a quiet environment conducive to reading and studying. At the end of the confinement hour, each confined cadet gets a 10 minute break.

PROCEDURES FOR CONDUCTING BATTALION CONFINEMENTS IN CLASSROOMS

• At the top of the next confinement hour every confined cadet will be in his/her seat. • The Company Duty Officer will take roll at this time. This will be repeated until the

Confinement Period is concluded. • At the end of the Confinement Period, the Company Duty Officer will take roll, form

up the confined cadets into a platoon and march them back to their battalion. • If Professors or Academic Advisors wish to see a cadet during these periods, the

Company Duty Officer will allow and give credit for the confinement. The Professor or Academic Advisor will either pick up the cadet in the Confinement classroom or write a note to the Company Duty Officer with the request and how long the confined cadet will be absent from the confinement period.

• Optional Confinements on Sunday will be served in Jenkins 307 and supervised by the Band Company Duty Officer. Those wishing to serve optional confinements must report to Jenkins 307 no later than 10 minutes before the start of the confinement hour. Band Company Duty Officer will take role, conduct an inspection and carry out their duties as outlined above. Role will be done on a blank piece of paper listing the cadets name, CWID, company, class and time of confinement.

PROCEDURES FOR CONDUCTING BATTALION CONFINEMENTS IN CLASSROOMS

• Duty Team Members will have the ability (for the week they are on duty) to access CAS and assign confinement/Tour Credit.

• At the end of each 50 minute period, the CDO will mark cadets present for confinements on their phone app, IPAD app or on the computer by going through CAS. CDO’S MUST ASSIGN CREDIT DURING THE CON FOR EACH CADET AT END OF EACH CON PERIOD

• This MUST be accomplished in a 20 minute window starting at 50 mins past the hour until 10 minutes past the hour.

• The policy for the SCCC is to get this accomplished during the 20 min period and to NOT have to manually enter the data.

• In Season Football: Can serve Confinements in their rooms on Sunday Mornings from 0900-1200 hours and Mondays from 1500-1800/2000-2300.

Duty Teams

• ALL INS:• All-ins will be done by Duty Team members and may be assisted by the Division

Inspectors. Only the Duty Team will be able to enter CAS and annotate AWOLs/Absences.

• Duty teams will annotate on CAS those cadets who are not in their room during the all ins. They will make this annotation either on their smart phone, Ipad, or back in their room on their computer. This entry must be completed NLT 0000 hrs. on weekdays and 0200 on weekend except when leave is extended.

• The preferred method is to do the all ins “live” on a smart device while checking rooms.

• BDOs will do all ins for the Battalion Staff and the SDO will do all ins for the Regimental Staff.

• Company Duty Teams are only responsible for Friday, Saturday, and Wednesday All-Ins
