JYVASKYLA MUSIC AND ARTS CENTRE

OCEAN NORTH

JYVASKYLA, FINLAND

This project is to create the spatial complex and the animated interior that catered for music purposes. The initial lattice structure and flat surfaces are used to set seating and stages. The dynamically articulated space has music intensities. The parametric structure is visually ac-tive by sounds.

This project is not only a skin; the complicated structure has essential influences on the spatial arrange-ment. The layed envelop consists of transparent panels and reflective skins. the natural light would yeild the perception of the area that is boundless and comfort. Moreover, the surface and volumes layering the lattices create differential spac-es. The architects tried to articulate the uses of lattices. They use the rules to pertaining to the location , orentation and density of the struts that make up the whole systems. The systerm should satisfie the structure, music performance, and circulation patterns.

While, the synergetic impacts on the vaious syatems working to-gether should be analysed in stages. Main structure, luminous perfor-mance and circulations easily cause contradictions.
