BY DEVAN (CABIN 4) “THE BEST CABIN EVER” My cabin is the best cabin because I have the most wonderful cabin — because I have the best friends: AJ, Justin, Carlos, Gary, Desmond, Keith, and Quintin. They make me feel like I’m an important friend. They are so funny. Bryan — he is so encouraging and caring. My cabin is the most creative people. They are like my brothers because we have a close bond. We never give up on each other. We keep on trying. And we fight for what we believe in. My cabin is the best because we like to have fun! “THE BEST MENTORS EVER” The mentors are the most helpful people I ever saw. When somebody is hurt or not feeling right, they see what’s wrong. They are the best kids ever. They make me believe that there’s a God who loves me and wants me to be the best I could be. (Photo by April Losekamp) BY SYLVIA (CABIN 2) “MY FIRST TIME AT SUMMER CAMP” I had been really excited about summer camp at King’s Domain. Actually, I had been excited since the day I signed up. When the day had finally come, I had been more excited than ever. I woke up at about 7:15 a.m., and I took a shower, got dressed, ate breakfast, and got ready to leave. I said bye to my step-dad, and my mom, my sister, and I left to go drop me off. We got to Crossroads Church, and we went to sign me in and get my head checked. (I didn’t have lice.) I ran into my good friend De’Shawn and found out that we were in the same cabin, and I was happy. I told my mom that I was nervous, and I was. My mom said I would have fun. “CAMP” Camp, oh, camp is mighty fine, Awesome, great, and just divine. Once you come, you never want to leave. Camp is definitely fun, I believe.
