Week beginning 1 st June 2020 – Year 4 Pirates Complete these activities over this week. You can complete them in any order you wish! These activities are based on the book ‘ Pirate Poems’ To access this book, you need to sign up to Oxford Owls and follow these links: https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/ 1) Click BOOKS in the green banner 2) Click ‘Ebook library’ 3) Browse the Ebook library 4) You can either now search for the book in the top search bar 5) OR you can go into ‘All Ages’ ‘7-9’ and the book will be there. you can play the different games. ‘Garage’ is a game set by your class teacher where they decide which times table you should practise each week. Try and keep improving your scores each time. If you fancy a challenge, try ‘Rockslam’. You can pick another student or even a teacher to challenge against tables up to 12 X 12. For every game you play, you earn coins that you can spend in their online shop where you can change your rockstars outfits! So have a go at logging in and playing some of the games!

SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar)

This week we are using inverted commas (also known as speech marks) in a sentenceSpeech marks look like this “_________ “ and go around the words that the person is SAYING out loud to someone else. E.G. “Please stop it!” shouted Meg.

Writing ABCB PoemsThis week’s writing is based on the poem ‘I Wish I was A Pirate’This week we have created videos to help with your writing this week. You can find these on our school website.Lesson 1 - PlanningYou may notice that in this poem, the last word of the second and fourth lines rhyme.

We are going to collate a bank of words to support our poem writing.
