Individual assignment(s) Week 4

• Before November 7th you will have to decide on which will be the ‘real life’ project you will undertake. Please communicate your decision to the coordinator: [email protected].

Individual assignment(s) Week 4

• Task 1.1:

Get in touch with a potential end user for your ‘real life’ project’s end result. Preferably this is a so called vulnerable stakeholder. Examine ‘the context of use’ in whatever way you prefer (survey, interview). Do research on your future client. What did you learn from your users for the project and their context; describe it? (600 words)

Individual assignment(s) Week 4

• Task 1.1:

You can find inspiration to perform this task in the Maguire document: Users will have certain goals and wish to perform certain tasks. The system will also be used within a certain range of technical, physical and social or organisational conditions that may affect its use.

Present your findings on your Weebly website - tab Context of use – Task 1.1

Group interaction Week 4

• Group interaction for this topic: (You can use Webex or any other online tool you like)

Reflect in your group on the TED Talk from Brené Brown: http://www.ted.com/talks/brene_brown_listening_to_shame

Group interaction Week 4

How do you look at vulnerability? Are there degrees of vulnerability? What about the ‘real life’ project you have chosen. Is it focussing on empowering a so-called vulnerable group in society? What makes this group a vulnerable group? What are your ideas about empowering this group? If your project is not specifically focussing on a vulnerable group, please imagine a potential vulnerable stakeholder? Will your project’s end result be accessible for this stakeholder? How will you strive for an ‘inclusive’ design’?

Group interaction Week 4

• Make an appointment with your group and discuss these questions online.
