The assembly will be followed by a sausage sizzle and johnny cakes and a range of activities for the students. Children will be taking part in different activities related to an aspect of traditional or contemporary Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture. We would especially like parents, family and community members to stay on after the assembly to see the activities and to have a yarn. ATHLETICS CARNIVALS Preschool to Year 2 Students from Preschool to Year 2 will be participating in their Annual Athletics Carnival on Friday 2 August on school grounds. Years 3 to 6 Students from Years 3 to 6 will be participating in their carnival on Friday 9 August at QEII. Students must come to school first for roll marking and will walk over to QEII with their teachers. This is a school activity and students are expected to be in attendance for the full day. Children are asked to wear their house colours eg coloured T shirt and shorts if possible, if you do not have their house colour any T shirt and shorts will do. Students must wear sports shoes, wear a wide brimmed hat, sunscreen, bring a bottle of water and a piece of fruit and lunch if they are not buying their lunch. The next instalment is due this Friday 26 July. Please ensure that you keep up or are ahead of the payment plan.

BOOK WEEK COMPETITION Book Week is from 12 to 16 August. For one of the Book Week competitions, the children

can design a poster. The theme for the poster is “READING IS MY SUPERPOWER”. It

can be A3 or A4 size. The theme is “READING IS MY SUPERPOWER”. P&C NEWS

The Uniform Shop is open every Wednesday from 9am to 12 noon.

WEDNESDAYS – SOUP DAY

Soup is available to purchase on Wednesdays this term - $3

The school canteen does not take calls from parents to order school lunches. Students must

order

their lunch before 9.05am each morning. The canteen does not book up children’s lunch orders.

; If there are any changes to your child’s routine in the afternoon ie: catching different

bus/not catching bus etc, PLEASE SEND A NOTE IN THE MORNING to your child’s teacher telling them of

the change. Please do not phone the office with afternoon changes (except in an emergency situation) as

this is a large school, with a busy office. It is not always possible for messages to be delivered to students on

time.

If you will be picking your child up early for an appointment etc., please send a note in to

your child’s teacher letting them know, so your child can be at the office ready for you to pick up.
