• Please  sit  next  to  someone  you  don’t  know  who  speaks  a  different  language

SYLLABUS

•  The  syllabus  is  very  important!  

•  It  has  a  lot  of  useful  informaFon.  

• Read  it  again  carefully  at  home  to  understand  the  rules  and  expectaFons  of  this  class.  

MEET A CLASSMATE (p. 1)

•  Talk  to  the  people  around  you  1.  Introduce  yourself:  “My  name  is  ______,  and  I’m  from  ______.”  2.  Ask  each  other  the  quesFons  on  p.  2  about  starFng  a  new  class.  3.  Do  you  have  more  quesFons  for  your  classmates?  

LISTEN (p. 2)

•  Listen  to  two  students  talk  about  starFng  a  new  class  1.  What  is  Eric  worried  about?  2.  How  does  Andrea  help  him?  

•  Listen  again,  and  answer  the  T/F/?  quesFons  that  follow!  

•  You  can  listen  again  at  home  at  this  website.  

QUESTIONNAIRE

•  Everyone  will  fill  out  a  student  quesFonnaire  about  yourself  • We  will  answer  some  quesFons  together  • Anything  we  don’t  finish  in  class  is  homework  • Bring  this  ques9onnaire  with  you  to  class  on  Thursday!  

Attendance/APC Codes

•  If  I  don’t  call  your  name  for  acendance,  you  are  not  registered  in  the  class  

• Come  see  me  and  I  will  give  you  an  APC  code  to  add  the  class  online  •  I  may  not  be  able  to  add  everybody,  the  class  might  be  full!
