Week 1 — Introduction to the Gospel of John Jesus is Life Welcome friends! We are thrilled you will be joining us as we take a close look at the life of Jesus found in the Gospel of John. No other human has had a greater impact on our world than Jesus Christ, and we believe his life deserves careful investigation. Wherever you find yourself on your spiritual journey, we firmly believe this study has something for you. One expert compares John’s Gospel to, “a pool in which a child may wade and an elephant can swim. It is both simple and profound. It is for the newest beginner in the faith and for the mature Christian.” A consistent theme throughout the book is that Jesus has come to bring life through belief in him—an abundant life while on earth and eternal life with God forever. The good news is, Jesus’ offer is still available today! He wants all of us know him, believe him and experience real LIFE in him. A life filled with joy, hope, peace, and purpose. This is really living. THIS is LIFE. We ask you to do three things each week in order to get the most out of the study:

• Read the selected chapter from the Bible • Complete each week’s study questions • Show up every week to share your insights and listen to the lecture

A note on the Study Questions: Today is Week One of our study, and you had no questions to prepare for this week. This coming week, as your preparation for Week Two, you should read and complete the study questions for Week Two: John Chapter 1. This will prepare you for our meeting and lecture next week. Come to attend the lecture first, and then you will discuss your study questions in your group.
