Romans 6:3-5Rom 6:3; Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Rom 6:5; For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection

WATER BAPTISM IS A BURIALRom 6:4; Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into deathWater Baptism is a portrayal, a reenactment of the death & burial of Jesus ChristEvery time a person is baptized, God sees a reenactment of the death & burial of Jesus Christ that is pleasing to HimIsaiah 53:10; yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him

WATER BAPTISM IS A BURIALWater Baptism pleases God because youre affirming the necessity and the value of the death of His SonAs youre buried in water, youre reenacting the death and burial of Christ, but putting yourself in that role.Youre declaring, It was my sin that buried Christ in the grave, it was my sin that sent him to the cross, it was ME that He died for!

WATER BAPTISM IS A BURIALWater Baptism also declares, Im being buried with Christ because I am dead myself!Gal 2:20; I am crucified with ChristCol. 3:5; Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth...That old man of sin is dead, and water baptism is his burial!

WATER BAPTISM IS A RESURRECTIONRom 6:4; therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Being raised up out of the water symbolizes Jesus Christs resurrection from the grave

WATER BAPTISM IS A RESURRECTIONHeb 9:12; Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. When Jesus stepped out of tomb, showed us that the sacrifice of His blood was accepted by the Father. When a person rises up from baptism, they are reenacting the resurrection of Christ and (by faith) identifying with it personally! It is BEING ALIVE UNTO GOD THROUGH JESUS CHRIST

WATER BAPTISM IS A PROCLAMATIONRom 6:5; we have been united together in the likeness of His deathWater Baptism was regarded as the beginning point of ones association with the Body of Christ and public obedience to the Faith.

WATER BAPTISM IS A PROCLAMATIONJesus never intended for our faith to be a private, personal matterMat 10:32-33; Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.Wednesday, May 1 at The Mission Church
