The resort’s namesake, Godfrey Barnsley, married his beloved Julia nearly 200 years ago, beginning our long tradition with fairy-tale romance. In her honor, he completed a grand 19th century Italianite villa surrounded by both formal English boxwoods and natural woodlands gardens in the heart of Northwest Georgia. Preferred Venues

Manor House Ruins The iconic 19th century manor house ruins are our most unique and preferred backdrop for both ceremonies and receptions. Couples often say their vows on one of two lawns adjacent to the ruins, followed by cocktail hour within the various rooms of the estate. Afterwards, guests proceed to the dinner reception on the second lawn. The larger Perennial Lawn is framed by the ruins on two sides and a perennial garden on the third. The Museum Lawn overlooks the boxwood parterre garden in front of the ruins. Permanent wooden arbors are located at one end of each lawn, providing a focal point for the ceremony. Wedding Package Information Package and Saturday Guest Minimums The Julia, Godfrey and Barnsley Wedding Packages require a guest minimum of 100 adults. All Saturday weddings require a guest minimum of 100 adults. This minimum may be reduced to 75 adults with a supplemental fee. Tent Requirements and Guestroom Commitment It is the responsibility of the wedding couple to reserve a budgetary allowance in case of inclement weather when reserving an outdoor venue. This could include tents, heaters and tent fans to provide for the comfort of you and your guests. Tents are only required when your attendance exceeds 150 guests, or when you cannot meet a minimum guestroom commitment, as follows: May, June, September and October – minimum of 35 or more guestrooms for Friday and Saturday March, April, July, August, November and December - a minimum of 20 or more guestrooms for Friday and Saturday January or February - no minimum guestroom commitment required Select Holidays - no minimum guestroom commitment required. Holidays include Easter, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day,

Father’s Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Christmas. Private indoor event space is provided as your weather alternate with a minimum guestroom commitment. All guestrooms will be reserved on a definite basis for you upon signing and returning an agreement. A 20% deposit based on the estimated room commitment will be due with your signed agreement. Your advance deposit will be refunded by us to you within 30 days after completion of your event if overnight rooms you paid for in advance were later paid for by your guests. Reservations may be made directly by your guests by calling our Reservations Department toll-free, or you may submit a rooming list. Additional Charges Vendor meals, audio-visual services and staging required by a band are possible additional charges.

Group reservations and services provided in the privacy of your guest room are options available to you. Couple’s massage and body treatments allow you to unwind together before or after the weekend’s festivities. Breakfast in Bed Spend a private morning together with breakfast delivered in the privacy of your guest room or cottage. We suggest ordering in advance with your preferred delivery time for the ultimate convenience. Love Spells After your celebration, return to your honeymoon suite where you will find your bedroom strewn with rose petals, 25-40 lit tea light candles and champagne on ice, making the night a fairy tale experience to remember forever. Manor Rooms Period-inspired rooms with private porch entry, fireplaces, clawfoot tubs and hardwood floors. Double and King options available. Access to shared parlor area if all Manor Room reservations are connected within the same cottage.

Suites Period-inspired suites with clawfoot tubs, fireplace hardwood floors, front and back porches as well as separate living room and bedroom.

In addition to enjoying your celebration, your guests just might feel like they enjoyed a vacation or romantic getaway when attending your Barnsley Resort wedding. Each guest room and suite is located within one of our charming cottages, offering a variety of layouts. Amenities included with every stay are s’mores supplies, activities such as canoeing on our pond or catch and release fishing, access to the Fitness Center, Spa and Resort Pool (in season).

Arbor Cottages Five stand-alone, one-bedroom suites for the utmost privacy with front and back porches. Gourmet snacks and wine included nightly.

Estate Cottages Available from two to seven bedrooms complete with living rooms, dining areas and butler-style kitchens. A variety rooms with king, queen or double beds, each with a private bathroom.

Activities

The entire wedding party can make the most of their getaway with a variety of activities available at the resort. Relax with a massage in our intimate spa, which also offers hair, makeup and nail services. The Fazio-designed golf course offers group outings, or outdoor enthusiasts may challenge the sporting clays course or go bird hunting at SpringBank Plantation. Horseback riding, lawn games, canoeing, biking, hiking and more offer something for each guest.

Helpful Information Venue Reservations Venues are typically reserved four hours prior to ceremony start time, and six hours prior to reception start time to allow ample time for setup. We do not limit the time or duration of your ceremony and reception. However, all outdoor receptions must end at 11:00 p.m. due to a local noise ordinance. Wedding Rehearsal Wedding packages for 100 guests or more include a one-hour rehearsal the day before the wedding. The location and time will be determined by your Wedding Catering Manager 30 days prior to your wedding date. This could include tents, heaters and misting fans to provide for the comfort of you and your guests. Indoor space may be held as an alternative to an outdoor ceremony or reception for up to 150 guests in certain seasons and over selected dates. Preferred Vendors We offer a carefully curated list of preferred vendors we recommend with the utmost confidence. Each of these professionals has provided services for multiple weddings at the resort, and is familiar with our unique location and requirements for hosting events at Barnsley Resort. Our preferred vendor list is included at the end of this packet. You may find it helpful to contact them as you prepare for your total budget. All food and beverage, with the exception of wedding cakes, must be purchased through Barnsley Resort. Non-Preferred Vendors If you choose, you may work with your own vendors with an additional fee of $500. Each non-preferred vendor will be required to provide a certificate of liability before providing services at the resort. Wedding Catering Managers Once your signed Wedding Agreement is received, our Wedding Catering Managers will be assigned to your event. They are available to assist you with planning the event details related to food and beverage, event layouts (excluding personal guest diagrams), audio-visual needs and other details of the event. Wedding catering managers can also recommend resort contacts to assist with making arrangements for spa, golf and other activities. Guest Room Reservations Upon receipt of the signed Wedding Agreement, our Wedding Guest Room Coordinator will be available to make overnight reservations for your wedding group. She will advise you of deposit and cancellation details to ensure your group’s needs are met in advance. This expert will also be able to guide you in reserving the best accommodations for your guests’ needs, from individual rooms and suites to larger Estate Cottages offering up to seven bedrooms. Wedding Planner and/or Day of Coordinator We highly recommend choosing a dedicated Wedding Planner and/or Coordinator to assist you with your planning and details including menu selection, setup, timeline and vendor selection. On the day of the wedding, the planner/coordinator is responsible for vendor management and coordinating the processional (ceremony and rehearsal). In addition, your planner/coordinator will keep the festivities on schedule by prompting speeches or toasts, significant dances and cake cutting. They will also assist with personal items on the day of the wedding such as favors, table cards, programs, personal photos and treasured heirlooms. It is this person’s responsibility to gather any personal items at the end of the reception. We have included a list of preferred planners and coordinators included in our Preferred Vendors list. Bridal Suite With 100 or more guests, the Red House is included as part of your Wedding Package. This is a wonderful location for the wedding party to meet and dress on the day of the wedding, with ample natural light for hair and makeup. We also offer the Red House Suite as part of your Wedding Package, reserved on your wedding night. Both spaces are subject to availability at the time of booking. If the Red House and Red House Suite are not available at the time your contract is signed, every attempt will be made to find alternate spaces.

Helpful Information (cont’d) Wedding Guest Transportation Barnsley Resort is a pedestrian-friendly resort. Most locations are no more than a leisurely five minute walk from the center of the village. For your wedding ceremony and reception, our wedding packages include shuttle service for all on and off-site guests. Our open-air tram makes stops at the parking lot as well as the Beer Garden and The Woodlands Grill, scheduled to allow your guests to arrive to your event on time. The tram is also available after the event to transport your guests back to their cottages and vehicles. Pets Barnsley Resort is known as one of the most pet-friendly resorts in the Southeast. We offer several pet-friendly accommodations and welcome your four-legged friend to participate in your festivities. Venue Space and Date Reservation A contract and deposit are required to reserve space for your wedding. Upon receipt of the contract, you have seven (7) days to review and confirm the event(s) by forwarding a signed contract and deposit, or release the space. Deposit and Billing A non-refundable deposit is due when confirming the event. Sixty (60) days prior to the event, 50% of the estimated charges are due. Thirty (30) days prior to the event, the remaining estimated charges are due. Fourteen (14) days prior to the event, all remaining estimated charges will be calculated and due. It’s important to note that these payments are estimates only. Your FINAL BILL WILL BE SENT TO YOU AFTER YOUR EVENT. Any charges incurred from the last estimate until after the event will be calculated by our Accounting Office and billed accordingly. A credit card must be given at the time of contracting that will be used for the final bill. Menu Tasting A menu tasting is included with all wedding packages. We recommend the tasting coincide with your planning appointment scheduled 90-120 days prior to the wedding. Tastings must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance. If you are interested in a tasting, please contact your Wedding Catering Manager to schedule. Rental Policy Rentals required through Barnsley Resort include tent, stage, and dancing floor.

You are welcome to rent anything needed through our preferred vendors. If you need to use another company please get approval through us first. Each non-preferred vendor is required to fill out the Vendor Application and provide Proof of Liability Insurance. If you are able to have items shipped/delivered to your home address; you are welcome to bring in rentals, set them up within the 4 hour set-up window prior to the ceremony start time, set rentals up & break them down so they are removed at the end of the night. Please keep in mind that we (Barnsley Resort Staff) do not handle these items and will not be able to store them prior to the 4 hour set-up window or after the event.

Most rental items will need to be shipped/delivered to Barnsley Resort. In this case, the invoice must go through Barnsley Resort. We are happy to accept delivery, set-up items according to our standard set-up, and ship items back. An up charge will be applied for handling & labor. If you use Barnsley Resort preferred vendors and the invoice also goes through us you will receive our discounted rates. The up charge is applied to the discounted rate and not the original cost.
