Compliment your wedding decor with signage. Signs help you tell the story of your wedding day. They add personal touches throughout your ceremony and reception and can be designed to compliment any decor or venue. Signs can also give directions, provide information for your family and friends and be points of engagement for guests. Budgeting for Signs

Everyone’s wedding budget is unique. The higher ticket signs are ones which are completely custom made from design through final production. Semi- custom designs (where the couple provides the sign to be written on) can help keep your decor on budget.

Materials

Popular choices for sign surfaces are chalkboard, wood and plexiglass painted with acrylic paint. They can be designed to fit any color scheme, venue or theme.

Custom vs. Digital

If going all custom is not going to fit into the budget, consider some digital alternatives. These are usually ready- made signs you can buy, download and print yourself. Find pretty frames to compliment your decor and you’re set! Then you can spend the majority of your sign budget on a few custom signs that are higher up on your wish list.

Below is a mockup of a ceremony. Everyone’s ceremony space will look different, but this map will give you an idea of what types of signs couples decide to include during the ceremony and where they might be placed.

Ceremony Signs Key

1 . Memory Table- Couples choose to honor their loved ones who have passed in many ways. Some will have a table with photos or some couples put reserved signs on chairs in the front rows with photos.

2. Aisle Quote- If you have a quote or line from a song that is meaningful to the both of you, consider having it lettered on multiple signs that line the way for when you walk down the aisle.

3. Ring Bearer- Not every couple uses these, but they are a little bit of humor for your guests during the ceremony. The ring bearer will usually carry a sign with a funny or cute message for the groom before he sees the bride.

4. Seating Instructions- This is a great sign for any venue. Couples who want to encourage their guests to mingle might have a sign that says, “Choose a seat, not a side, you are loved by both the groom and bride.”

5. Wedding Program- This could be a timeline of events for the day and or/ a list of who is participating in the ceremony. This sign can pull double duty at your reception.

6. Welcome Sign- This is the main sign all couples want. There are so many styles you can choose for this. Many couples adorn their welcome sign with flowers. Best part- another sign that can pull double duty at the reception!

7. Unplugged Ceremony- It’s common right now to encourage guests to be preset to in the moment with the couple and turn off all devices. Some couples don’t want photos to be released before
