WEDDING RING WORKSHOPS10am – 3pm (with a break for lunch)

Whether you’re having a totally handmade wedding, or just love the idea of a little diy, making your own Wedding Bands is a great way to ensure that your Wedding Rings are truly personal. Over the course of a fun, relaxed day you’ll make a pair of rings, from the metal of your choice, in Becca’s fully equipped jewellery workshop. You’ll form your rings by hand, solder them and polish them up - all ready for your Big Day.

You don’t need to have any experience of metalwork or jewellery making to get involved, full guidance will be provided on the day, along with plenty of tea & biscuits.

Each workshop is limited to two people so you’ll have lots of time and attention to help you to make your rings.

Becca currently only offers the option to make rings in silver, yellow, red or white gold, in 9ct, 14ct or 18ct Gold, Platinum or Palladium.

Once completed each set of rings will be hallmarked by the Birmingham Assay Office and delivered to you within 2-3 weeks.

ABOUT BECCA:

Becca is a friendly and professional jeweller and silversmith with 10 years of experience in the trade. She set up her business in 2008, upon graduation and worked in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter for 10 years. In 2018 she relocated to Cornwall and now works in Penryn.

Her work can be purchased at selected contemporary craft fairs and galleries around the UK and has recently been sold in Birmingham’s new John Lewis store.

PRICE GUIDE:

Workshop Cost: £240 per couple (including hallmarking and delivery) plus material costs.

MATERIAL COSTS:

These vary from couple to couple and I suggest that you visit the workshop before your course to select from a range of sample materials. These will allow you to consider the shape, width and finish of the ring that you would like to make.

These sample metal charges will help to give you an idea of your final workshop cost, though each individual class will be calculated independently:

EXTRA'S:

RECYCLING FAMILY GOLD:

You're welcome to provide your own materials for the class. Melting down family gold provides a connection to your past through the metal that you've inherited and is also a great saving for you. Most gold items are suitable for melting and Becca can provide extra gold to add to a piece should it be required.

The gold that you want to use needs to be delivered to the workshop at least a week before the course for Becca to prepare your wire.

The charge for this is £30 per ring.

ENGRAVING:

Your rings can be engraved after you've made them with yourwedding dates or a message of your choice. Becca uses a HandEngraver in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter to provide thisservice.

Adding wedding dates to a ring costs £25 for a single ring or £40for a pair.

Charges for longer messages are calculated individually.

STONE SETTING:

Stone settings can be added to the rings that you make after the class.

Costs for additional coloured stones and diamonds will vary from project to project. If you let Becca know in advance what you'd like then she can show you a selection of stones to chose from on the day of your class.

Free on-site parking is available within the Mill Yard complex.

The nearest train station is Penryn, which is a 20 minute walk away. Becca's happy to collect you from the train station, with advance warning.
