Because chances are you haven’t been married before and you’re navigating

this world of wedding planning on the go. After documenting well over a hundred

weddings I have taken down the “do’s” the “what not to do’s”, things to consider,

necessary permits, how to make the most out of your day, create those valuable

memories with the people you love most, prepare, plan, and all the details on

how to get ready for a fun, stress-free, easy-going wedding day. My goal for all of

my clients is to have an amazing time with the people you love while enjoying a

stress-free experience.

Being infront of a camera normally has some pretty bad misconceptions

attached to it - but this usually comes from couples who hired a photographer

that they didn’t take the time to connect with. Which is why I place such a big

emphasis on getting to know you. As my best work stems from creating with

couples who I have a genuine connection with, who feel comfortable with me, and

who trust me. Every single one of my couples start off their session telling me

they’re “awkward infron of the camera and aren’t huge fans of being photographed”

and by the end of our time together they’re talking about how much fun they

had and how their experience was nothing like they expected. Taking photos

doesn’t have to be painful, stressful or posed - it can be fun, natural, and a

genuinely fun way to spend the day documenting the love you share.

Private Online Gallery

Your high-resolution, unwatermarked, print-ready images are delivered

in an online album within 4-6 weeks from your event date. A print release is also

included so that you can print your images to your hearts content. Your online

gallery is optimized for easy sharing amongst family and friends.

Film and Digital

Engagement sessions and weddings are documented on both film and

digital mediums.

Online StoreYour private online gallery is connected to an online store that streamlines

the printing process with new, easy to use, technology. Filled with my preferred

vendors and directly connected to your high-resolution images, printing your

memories has never been easier. All online orders are proofed personally by me

prior to sending to production.

Value Because at the end of the day it really does make a difference when you choose to

invest in someone who also wants to invest in you. I can’t count the amount of times

I have heard other couples mention that they hired a cheap photographer or asked a

friend or a relative to document their wedding and completely regretted it. Your wedding

“Choosing Sophie to photograph our wedding was one

of the best wedding choices we made.

She is incredible. We hadn’t originally planned to have engagement photos done, but by chance Sophie

was planning to be out near our home in the Pacific NW and we couldn’t resist. At first meeting, we

knew we had made the right choice and that was confirmed after spending 8 hours together road-trip-

ping to a picturesque spot on the OR coast where she captured the most dreamy engagement photos.

If you have a chance to do engagement shots with Sophie, do it! When Sophie arrived at our wedding

months later it was like seeing an old friend. She is so kind, funny, and makes is so easy to forget the

camera is there allowing her to capture authentic moments and emotions. The photos she took from the

wedding are amazing, looking through the gallery immediately transported us back to the day. Nothing

felt posed or forced, which was exactly what we wanted. I could go on for paragraphs, but long story

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is your approach to weddings?

Most of my clients who get in touch with me mention that they love the

unexpected moments that are caught between their loved ones. These are the

moments I value most as my approach stems from documenting the smaller

moments that make up a big day. I remain photojournalistic in my approach only

guiding you into ideal lighting for moments like putting on your dress, first looks

bridal party, and family portraits. Throughout the day I will interact with your

friends and family as I find that enabling relationships builds trust and allows

for vulnerability.

Q: Do you shoot film or digital?

A: I shoot both! I am a hybrid photographer which means I shoot both film and digital

on your wedding day. I’ve chosen to intrduce film into my wedding work for numerous

reasons, but the main reason being that film continues to stand the test of time despite

current wedding trends and stylized photography.

Q: When will we receive our images? And How Many Should we Expect?

A: The standard turn around for a full wedding gallery is 5-6 weeks. Engagement

sessions typically take 2-4 weeks to receive your fully edited gallery. For a full day

of wedding coverage you can expect up to 400 fully edited images (while I usually

deliver twice that amount). For an engagement session you can expect up to 80+ fully

edited images.

Q: Do you shoot with backup?

Always. I always bring my backup gear to weddings and I always back up your wedding

images in camera and as soon as I get home. At all times there are three copies of your

wedding day images until you full gallery has been fully edited and delivered.

If you’d like to know more about my back up process don’t hesitate to ask.

Q: Do you bring on a second photographer?

A: A second photographer is always an option to add on, however, 90% of my weddings are

photographed solo. Due to my style of shooting being fairly specific I never rely on an

assistant to document big moments or to complete a wedding.

Assistants are only there to sprinkle in more moments or suggested when

1) you and your partner are getting ready in two separate locations

2) your guest count is more than 200 people.

If you do decide to stick with only one photographer that will not alter the outcome

or quality of your photos.

Q: I found some poses online that I’d love to incorporate into my wedding. Do you work from shot lists?

A: If you’re hiring me I’m hoping it’s because you’ve seen work on my website that you feel

a connection with. These images stem from a mututal trust and are able to showcase the

personalities and genuine emotion of the individuals and their connection because there was

room for spontinaity and an environment that enabled comfort that only comes when someone

isn’t telling you what to do and when. Because of this I ask that my couples trust me with the

overall art direction of your images, as working from a specific shot list creates over-posed,

awkward, and often times uncomfortable photos which does not represent the work you see

on my portfolio. Family photos and bridal portraits are typically the only instance where I will

work with you to create a shot list.

Q: Do you travel for weddings and if so what’s the cost?

A: I do travel quite a bit! I am frequently between the Bay Area and New Orleans.

The cost of travel is normally based on the location of the wedding and the time of the year

since flights and accomodations vary state to state and fluctuate during seasons.

If you’re planning a destination wedding please don’t hesitate to reach out for a custom

quote.

Q: Has your work ever been published online or in magazines?

A: Yes, I’ve been incredibly grateful to have been published in Rangefinder Magazine,

The Southern Bride, Kentucky Bride, The Knot, Hypebeast, Junebug Weddings, Photobug

Community, and Lookslikefilm.

Q: Do you have payment plans available?

A: Absolutely. For couples who would like to break up their payments into smaller incriments

this can be done. I always do my best to be accomodating to my clients ideal payment schedule,

so if this sounds like something that would best work for you guys please don’t hesistate to

request this option.

Q: We’re ready to book! How do we secure you for our wedding?

A: That’s great news! To have your date reserved in my caclendar a non-refundable retainer of

50% of your collection total and a signed digital contract are due. Once those two have been

completed and received, your date will officially be booked and unavailable to future

inquiries. Final payment is due no later than two weeks prior to your wedding.

“From the beginning Sophie has been hands down our favorite part of

the wedding planning experience..

I don’t even know where to begin with how amazing Sophie is. She goes above and beyond her duties as your wedding photographer

in every way possible, including helping me to put together my day of timeline. It was so wonderful working with her and getting to

know her over the past year and half- she is truly the only part of wedding planning that I’ll miss! The week of our wedding Sophie

even asked if she could join our welcome party to shoot a few shots with us to get us comfortable with her. Since we live in NYC, we

ceived compliments all night from guests, family, and friends on how seamlessly Sophie fit in with the party and no one ever felt like

she was obtrusive in any way, yet she somehow always managed to be at the right place at the right time to capture the best shots. I

cannot stress enough how easy Sophie made our big day. I wish I could take her back to NYC with us to be our permanent life pho-

tographer. There will be many vendors who don’t follow through on their promises or expectations throughout your wedding planning

process but trust me when I say, Sophie will not be one of them. And I haven’t even mentioned how stunning her work is. She manag-

es to capture the little moments most others would overlook. I can’t even manage to write enough wonderful things about her because
