Kingsford Homestead is rich in history, romance and charm – simply perfect for your wedding celebration.

Built in 1856 and lovingly restored to be one of Australia’s finest luxury retreats, Kingsford Homestead is a stunning venue. Offering

a complete setting of riverbanks, rolling hills, lily filled gullies and sweeping lawns, Kingsford Homestead is a place where you will create memories that will last a lifetime.

We bought Kingsford Homestead in 2009 after it was home to the long running TV series McLeod’s Daughters.

We knew this place was special – its history is part of the region and that was too valuable to lose. We were excited to have the opportunity to renovate the property and didn’t hesitate to carefully restore its features and convert it to the five-star luxury retreat it is today.

Our dedicated property managers specialise in weddings and will be with you every step of the way.

We work with you to co-create your dream wedding, tailor made to suit your wishes and dreams. We feel passionate about presenting to you, your perfect day.

Kingsford Homestead offers you many settings to choose from - lunchtime wedding, midweek wedding, sunset canapés and cocktails, to an evening wedding with a formal sit down dinner, your choices are endless.

Terrace lawn

Our most popular and versatile area, the homestead lawn can be used for pre-weddings drinks, the ceremony, reception and photographs.

Situated directly in front of the homestead, the perfectly manicured lawn area leads up the brick stairs and through the romantic double doors that once served as the main entrance to the home.

Very popular for weddings, with the open space, beautiful gardens and amazing views. The bride can make a grand entrance out of the Homestead and down the stairs to the waiting guests.

A perfect setting for a cocktail-style reception or small sit-down meal under the stars or a small marquee.

Shearing Shed Lawn

This pristine area, situated outside the Shearing Shed, has sweeping views of the Homestead and the surrounding hills and scenery. The grassed area is enclosed with natural stone and is the perfect setting for both ceremonies and receptions.

This is the largest of all our areas and can cater for a populous marquee, perfect for large-scale sit down dinner receptions. You may also want to consider a pre or post wedding gathering in this area as the views are breathtaking.

Shearing Shed

A truly unique and unforgettable setting – the rustic and romantic building isthe original shearing shed of KingsfordHomestead. This space has been lovinglyrestored with great care to retain itsnatural charm and character.

Perfect for ceremonies and receptions and is the ideal spot for the most memorable wedding photographs.


Poolside lawn

The pool lawn space works perfectly as a reception area to compliment your ceremony on the Homestead lawn.

A large area where we can cater for sit down dinner receptions, with a view over the rural backdrop and pool itself.


The Dining RoomThe dining room is located amidst the historical homestead and exudes the enchantment and elegance of the 19th century. Step back in time with your intimate group and indulge within the homestead atmosphere - romance, candlelight and fine food matched with supreme wines and meaningful conversations and connections.

We booked Kingsford Homestead for three nights over our wedding weekend and what a weekend it was! It was so special to be able to have our closest friends and family share the experience with us and party with us all weekend!

Food Style.Kingsford Homestead has a reputation for creating decadent menu options infused with locally sourced produce. We pride ourselves on the highest standard of culinary delights masterly crafted by award-winning Executive Chefs.

A visually captivating menu will be designed to match the style of your day, personal tastes and dietary requirements. Each Wedding is created with the individual in mind and we hand select the perfect Chef for your occasion and requirements. Choose from stand up cocktail style catering ideas to a five-course seasonal degustation grand affair.


We have many wine friends in the Barossa Valley and will provide you with a select offering of beverage package to accompany your dining experience.

Bring your own wines

We will meet your suppliers on site to coordinate the delivery of all your beverages, keep everything securely stored at the appropriate temperature and then serve it to your guests as required.

Our beverage package runs for 6 hours and can be extended to suit your individual requirements.

If you’d like to make your wedding even more special, consider extending your stay at the homestead and taking advantage of the luxury accommodation. With seven newly-renovated suites – including the honeymoon suite – there is plenty of room for you and your bridal party, family or friends.

With an exclusive booking of the property, we will spoil you with a sumptuous breakfast the next morning.

You and your guests will benefit from onsite parking for the day. We also cater for coaches and buses should your guests travel together.

Styling and decorations

Having hosted a number of stunning weddings at Kingsford Homestead, we will provide you with ideas on how each setting can be showcased to bring out its best. We have a portfolio of ideas and suggestions for you to consider during the planning stage and will provide you with options for various trusted suppliers.

If you’d prefer, we will organise all arrangements for you once you’ve chosen your preferred styling and decorations and truly take the stress away. Alternatively, feel free to use your own ideas and suppliers. We will work with you, no matter what you prefer.

Fresh flowers

We work closely with an outstanding florist to design and deliver a variety of incredible floral decorations for both your ceremony and reception. These can also become farewell mementos for your guests at the end of the day if you wish.

Photography planning

As a guest of Kingsford Homestead you will have exclusive access to many stunning settings on our 225 acre property for your unique photo opportunities.

We encourage you to bring your photographer to the property during the planning stage and we will personally chauffeur you around the various settings to find the most ideal locations for the day.
