The experts and coaches in the Weconomy community are there to support you. You will come into contact with a vast market of more than four billion poor people living with

under EUR 5 a day. The market is referred to as Base of the Pyramid or BOP.Weconomy Start brings together creative and passionate entrepreneurs who have the competence and qualifications to produce sustainable business ideas via co-creation. In the programme, you can develop and test your ideas together with local poor communities – where the innovations are most needed. The best solutions may lead to global business while increasing the wellbeing of millions of people.

A MARKET OF FOUR BILLION PEOPLE

The BOP market consists of people earning less than EUR 5 per day, that is two-thirds of the world’s population.

Weconomy Start will establish innovation test beds and collaboration between Finnish companies and one community in India and two in Sri Lanka, where World Vision Finland has good networks. There are approximately one billion people living at BOP markets in India, whose total purchasing power is nearly USD 93.7 billion. In Sri Lanka, 17 million inhabitants belong to the BOP population, and their income in total is USD 21.8 billion. In the future, Weconomy Start will expand to new areas.
