China's automobile industry maintain rapid growth Continuously

Market Introduction

The automobile market is undergoing a new

round of reshuffling as the result of the new

major challenges faced by the automobile

manufacturing industry. China's market is

undoubtedly one of the most valuable markets to

seize. By 2017, there were 29.015 million

automobiles produced in China, out of which

28.879 million automobiles were sold, keeping it

on the first position in the world market for ninth

consecutive year. According to the latest data

from China Association of Automobile

Manufacturers, 16.1 million vehicles totally were

produced and 15.955 million were sold from Jan.

to Jul. of 2018. Production increased 3.5% and

sales increased 4.3% year-on-year respectively,

and the growth rate of sales was 0.2% higher than

the same period of last year.

Concerning the field of new energy vehicle,

China's new energy vehicle industry is developing

fast, with the total production of 794,000 vehicles

and sales of 777,000 vehicles in 2017. And the

growth rate was 53.8% and 53.3%,

respectively. According to the cumulative sales

data from January to April of 2018, the total sales

reached 223,000 vehicles, with the most of the

models doubling their growth rates respectively.

It’s expected that more than 1 million new energy

vehicles will be sold in 2018.

In addition, the automotive industry is

experiencing a transition to follow the

electrification trend. Additionally, due to the rapid

development of intelligent networking technology

and artificial intelligence (AI), the vehicles will

become more and more intelligent and easier in

operating. According to the forecast data, the

global sales of driverless vehicles will reach 21

million by 2035, and China is expected to become

the largest driverless market in the world. The

innovations on the smart chips field will be the

determining factor of that growth.

With the concept of industry 4.0, lightweight,

environmental protection, energy-saving and 3D

printing, there is no doubt that the challenges and

opportunities coexist in automotive industry.
