WMS Case Study

Problem

• When orders are received the pickers were searching for relevant material from warehouse

• Pickers were not working in an optimum manner thus the warehouse had many half picked pallets

• This resulted in longer storage time, greater staging area and more runs for fork-lifts

Solution

• With the deployment of WMS, Rhenus was able to cut down fork lift runs and increase empty pallet positions for storage of new material

• Lesser bottleneck in staging area and vehicle were emptied faster

• The turn-around time improved and space utilization in warehouse increased
