I will begin by analysing websites (of unique or interesting design) from any industry in order to gain a wider view of design inspiration and possibility. I am using a website called Awwwards, which is an online award company rating the best the internet has to offer. Their selection of websites is both varied and totally unique, with really independent and daring companies and organisations. To access the website, click any of the images.

ALT_CPH 14 ALTERNATIVE ART FAIR OF COPENHAGEN

This website is bold, brash and brave in its pure, purposeful ugliness. From what one can gather, it is based on the early design faces of Windows desktop computers, with a simple use of Times New Roman font, mixed with disorientating glitches. I love this website and feel it can be really useful in the development and creation of my website, especially in relation to characters like The Puppeteers.

MAAEMO FINE DINING, OSLO

This website is simply stunning. Its sparse layout and minimalist layout add impact to the rolling rural landscape of Norway, making the website seem like more of a website for art than food itself. It’s a bold and impacting statement and one that I will adapt for my own use, with moving background and a simple layout.

DISTRICT 13 THE HUNGER GAMES FAN MADE SITE

District 13 is a testimony to both film series and fan alike, with the website featuring social links, character information, cross media converging applications like a Scanner to link the website to your phone. I will use the website for its inventiveness and its relation to the films, which has led me to want to create specific websites for certain organisations within my trailer.
