NEW WEBSITE TO AID ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

The Norman Economic Development Coalition has launched a site that aims to improve the

business climate in Norman

NORMAN, OKLA.—The Norman Economic Development Coalition (NEDC) has recently

overhauled their website to make their efforts in the Norman area accessible and beneficial to the

businesses nationwide. NEDC works to stimulate economic development in Norman and now

has an updated website that puts its resources at businesses’ fingertips.

The newly-upgraded www.nedcok.com provides potential businesses and developers with

up-to-date information pertaining to demographics, incentive programs, business climate and

available buildings for site selectors, existing industry, and startups.

According to NEDC Executive Director Don Wood, the new site will make researching

business opportunities in Norman an easy and satisfying experience for viewers, as well as

provide anyone with information about the dynamic city.

“Today companies begin their site-selection and evaluation process using the Internet and

as a general rule, will have 95% of their questions about your company answered online,” said

Wood. “It is extremely crucial that you have a great Web-presence.”

Among the new features on the site is the Quick Links widget that offers instant access to

the most important resources and services that NEDC provides.

The “Building and Sites” link serves prospective businesses as an online portal into

Norman, offering pictures, maps, demographics, and pricing of available retail and office

buildings in addition to land for potential sites. Through satellite technology, powered by

Google maps, visitors can remotely tour properties, view satellite images of building sites and

make inquires.

The “Business Climate” link provides a detailed listing of new, expanded, and emerging

employers in Norman as well as an overview of Oklahoma’s target industries.

Other pages include information regarding Norman’s demographics, links to pertinent websites

for the Norman community, and the city’s economic indicators.

The remaining pages provide information on NEDC’s emerging technology

entrepreneurial centers (eTec and eTec2), which are business accelerators designed to help new

technology companies grow more quickly, and NEDC’s Business Parks and Tech Corridor.
