֍ Why did you become a paralegal?
I became a paralegal because I have always been fascinated by law and politics but I wasn’t sure if I
wanted to take the extra step to become an attorney. Once I got into the field, I realized that I did not want
to be an attorney; I much prefer being the person doing the “behind the scenes” work.
֍ What do you like the most & the least about your career?
I love everything about being a paralegal. For me, legal work is like putting the pieces of a puzzle
together and that is how my brain operates. I really enjoy legal research and having the ability to get into
the nitty gritty details of various legal questions and issues. I was never a fan of keeping time but luckily I
don’t have to do that anymore!
֍ How would you describe yourself to others?
I’m a self-proclaimed aficionado of Seinfeld, Sinatra and moderately prices cabernets. I am someone
who likes to laugh and I don’t take life too seriously. I am highly organized (almost to a fault), punctual and
if you give ma a job to do - you can be certain that it will get done. I like to travel with my husband &
experience other cultures because I believe we can all benefit from seeing how other people live. I find that I
am most at peace outdoors and the mountains are my ultimate happy place.
Name three things you never leave home without.
A beverage (hydration is key!), my sunglasses (rain or shine) and my phone
֍ Name three things you have always wanted to do?
I have always wanted to go cage diving with Great White sharks in S. Africa (I’m still trying to talk
my husband into it), perform stand-up comedy for a sold-out theatre and have the opportunity to have dinner
with Jerry Seinfeld and/or Larry David.
֍ What is your favorite fall activity?
EVERYTHING! Halloween is my favorite season (yes-it’s a whole season for me!) and I enjoy
decorating my home, scary movie marathons, haunted houses (the scarier, the better!), pumpkin carving,
making apple pies with freshly picked apples from the orchard and the cool, crisp fall air!
֍ What is your favorite Halloween candy? Sour patch kids—I could eat an entire bucket full!
֍ What was your favorite Halloween costume growing up? When I was Garth to my best friend’s Wayne
֍ Pumpkin spice . . . Love it or hate it? Hate it! To be fair, I don’t like pumpkin—I’m more of an apple
spice kind of woman (hey, that would’ve made a good Spice Girl name)!
֍ Why did you join PANO? I joined PANO because I believe that we can all benefit by meeting with, talking with and developing
relationships with individuals who are in the same field of work. PANO also provides paralegals in
the area athe opportunity to learn about topics that may not be available elsewhere, something that is
crucial for professional development and career success.
