1. Directory of all faculty web sites at http://www.sjsu.edu/people/2. Individuals web sites URL: Enter the first name, a dot, and the last name of the person after the Peoples
directory URL i.e.http://www.sjsu.edu/people/firstname.lastname/
Login to Website Builder
1. Go tothe Main Login page at http://www.sjsu.edu/login. Click the Website Builder icon. You arrive at thelogin page of Website Builder.
2. Use your SJSUOne account information to login.

Settings: Authoring Environment - Comparing Basic Mode and Enhanced Mode
Features
In Settings, there are three groups of option: Authoring Environment, Delete Confirmation; Publications & Presentations Entry
Method. In Authoring Environment there are function implications when you select either the Basic or the Enhanced Mode.
Basic Mode: You can arrange the Listing Order in modules by clicking the up and down arrow on each item.
Basic Mode: You can input text in a basic text box by using HTML coding for formatting.
Enhanced Mode (with drag & drop function): You can arrange the Listing Order in modules by dragging the hand icon up or down
on each item.
Enhanced Mode: You can input and format text in XStandard, a WYSIWYG text editor with rich function icons.

Settings - Using Form Fields in the Publications and Presentations Module:
Entry Method 1- Form-based Entry
1. In Settings, Publications & Presentations Entry Method section, select Use Form-based Entry. Click Save & Exit.
2. Go to Home and select the Publications & Presentation Module. Select Add a Publication or Presentation. The form fieldspage appears. Input information directly in the form fields according to the categories.
Important: Stay with one entry method. Website Builder stores the information of the two options in separate locations
3. Click Save & Preview. Click Back to Website Builder to continue authoring.

Settings - Using Form Fields in the Publications and Presentations Module:
Entry Method 2
1. In Settings, in the Authoring Environment section, select XStandard Text Editor. In the Publications and Presentations EntryMethod section, select Use Open Text Field. Click Save & Exit.
2. Go to Home and select the Publications and Presentations module. The XStandard Text Editor appears.3. Open your text document that contains the content of your publications outside of Website Builder. Copy the text and
return to Website Builder.
4. Paste contents in the XStandard text editor. Click Back to Website Builder to continue authoring.

Using the XStandard Text Editor
1. Input text directly in the text editor.2. Highlight the text.3. Click on an icon to apply the formatting feature such as, click the down arrow of the drop down menu to select one of the
presets for font styles; click on the B button to apply bold face, click the ABC icon to check spelling, etc. See the following
image for more explanations.

Publishing Your Web Site
1. Click on the Publish icon in the navigationtoolbar.
2. Before you publish you should check the status ofyour website and modules.
3. Status of your website:a. If you a new user, the default status of your
website is Inactive meaning your site is not
visible to the general public.
b. When you are ready to publish, the site willbecome active and visible.
4. Status of Modules Inside Your Website:a. The status ofmodules and sections are
determined while you are in the authoring
phase. Here is the tabulation of your selections.
b. You can however change the status selection ofyour modules or sections here and the results
will supersede your previous selections in the
authoring phase.
5. Scroll the window to reveal all the modules status.6.
Caution: if the sections are active and the moduleof the sections is inactive, the sections are inactive.
7. When ready, click the Activate & Publish button.8. If your site is already active, then click the Save &
Publish button.
9. Click Yes to publish your site. A confirmationmessage appears
10. Click View Live Website to see the active public facingsite. Your new website will open in a new tab. The URL
of your new website can be found in the address field in
your browser such
as,http://www.sjsu.edu/people/jane.doe/as
[email protected] account. To continue with
authoring or editing, click the Home icon in Website
Builder.
