Nancy Spaeth Early Childhood Scholarship

Mrs. Beverly Carpenter, a 4th grade teacher at Mark Twain Elementary, gave an assignment to her students to read articles about college. These students decided to sponsor a scholarship for a graduating senior who had attended Mark Twain and then began the task of raising the funds. Thank you to the students of Mrs. Carpenter’s class for your desire to honor a graduating senior!

Mark Twain Carpenters Scholarship

Nancy Spaeth relocated to Webb City in 1977 with her husband, George. Mrs. Spaeth loves children and believes all children deserve a good education. For over 23 years, she has volunteered with the district assisting the teachers of kindergarten students in whatever way she could to help assure each student a successful start to their education. Knowing the importance of education in the early years of a child’s development, she endowed a scholarship through the Foundation to assist graduating students pursuing a degree in Childhood Education. Thank you, Nancy Spaeth, for your investment in the students of Webb City!
