Keeping you...In the Loop Issue 3 Summer last term 23.06.2017 This week’s learning We’re certainly not winding down for the summer! The children are continuing to work very hard in Read Write Inc, reading lots of stories and writing lots of wonderful sentences. We’re very proud of them Mrs Fearn will be doing her final RWI assessment over the next few weeks so we can clearly see just how far they’ve come over the year! The children have been enjoying writing about The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch too. You’ll get to see all their writing when they bring home their Wizzy Word Books at the end of the year. In numeracy, the children have been busy looking at place value, working out what each digit represents in a number and finding missing numbers in patterns. I will often find the children playing ‘teachers’ using numicon to add and subtract. Mrs Beard and I find it very amusing (and worrying) when they take on the role of us! The caterpillars are now chrysalis’ and are developing a deeper colour everyday which means they are nearly ready to emerge as butterflies! I’m sure the children will keep you updated on this very exciting event! Messages If you have struggled to access Tapestry - don’t worry! It will be back up and running next week. The CDs will be £5 but a letter will be going out soon with more information on about this. Homework (optional) Due in Monday 3 rd July Design/ draw a basket of food for Mr Grinling’s lunch!
