Making your BlogStep #1 - Log in to your computer and go to www.wordpress.com

Step #2 – Sign up. (It’s free)

Step #3: Pick a user name and password. You will give me both of these to keep track of. Feel free to change it when the semester is over.

Step #4 : choose a domain name that is based on your name not a nick-name or any other phrase. You can then name your blog whatever you want.

Step # 5: Hit Create Blog

Step #6 : Time to adjust your blog’s appearance. To do this, go to ‘My Dashboard’.

If you don’t want this blog to appear in any searches, click off this privacy setting. You will need to remember the domain name to find it.

Step #7: Use your dashboard to change the way your blog looks, add posts and assignments.

Step #8: To create a post, click posts and ‘add new’.

Start by picking a theme under appearance. You can also add pictures of your own.

Step #9 : To add a picture, word document or any other assignment, click upload/insert. For pictures, choose image; for almost everything else click media.

Step #10: Uploading your file. Click ‘Select Files’, locate the file and click ‘open’. Be sure to click ‘insert into post’.

Step #11: Click ‘Publish’

Step # 11 : Send me an email with a link to your blog, your user name and password. Remember to go to the home page and not the dashboard to copy the address.
