What is Travel SMART/My Journey? Travel SMART is a programme designed to provide people with more travel choices that help cut carbon, calories and cost. It aims to support economic growth in Surrey by helping people travel more sustainably. My Journey provides practical advice and support on promoting sustainable and physically active transport in Hampshire. What funding is available? This pool bike scheme aims to support organisations in the Blackwater Valley area in providing bicycles and accessories for use by employees. Organisations and businesses can apply for grants of up to a maximum of £3,000 per application. This can be matched by funding from other sources for larger projects. The amount awarded will depend on the overall strength of your application and the extent to which it meets the fund criteria. Further details of the criteria are provided in section three of the application form overleaf. Who can apply? The fund is open to businesses based in the Blackwater Valley, who are working with our Workplaces Officer to get more employees travelling actively. Section 3: Funding availability

Funding is available for bicycles and accessories such as helmets, reflective clothing or tools e.g. tyre pumps.

Applicants will need to source a quotation from at least one of the suppliers listed on the last page of this application clearly documenting the items they would like funding for (see section 3.2).

3.4 Please explain how you will store the pool bikes and accessories securely. If you already have secure cycle parking, please include a photo.

     

3.5 Please explain how you will administer the booking of pool bikes and state who at the organisation will be responsible for the scheme administration.

     

3.6 Please provide detail of how the company insurance policy will cover the pool bikes. As stated in the terms and conditions, once purchased, the pool bikes will be the property of the organisation.

     

3.7 How will you ensure that the bikes are properly maintained, and how this will be funded?

     

Section 4: Conditions of application if successful1) If successful, the applicant must sign the terms and conditions before funding will be granted.2) Applicants are responsible for confirming the final quotation with the supplier and Travel SMART.3) Once the quotation has been confirmed, Travel SMART will purchase the items which have had approved funding. Travel SMART will pay the supplier directly for the items.4) The organisation is responsible for collecting or arranging delivery of all funded items from the supplier.

5) Once collected, the funded items become the responsibility and property of the applicant organisation.6) Applicants must commit to demonstrating the benefit of pool bike scheme by conducting a baseline and follow-up travel survey, the results of which will be shared with Travel SMART.
