Gonzaga Leadership Award 2016 (Yearbook Publication)

(Presenter: Would Mr. Vaters come forward to present the award)

One of the many traditions at Gonzaga is the publication of our

annual yearbook. This year will be no different from any other in that regard. The yearbook, many of you will come to realize (if you don’t already), is a priceless collection of the memories of your high school lives.

While many of us appreciate the product that is the yearbook, we do not often take the time to recognize the production effort behind it.

This year, while there is a great team involved, one student in particular has taken it upon them self to see your yearbook creation through from beginning to end. Their effort has been tireless, dedicated, consistent and innovative.

For that he deserves your recognition.

This year’s recipient of the Gonzaga Leadership Award (Yearbook Publication) is Ryker Richard.

Writers at Gonzaga (Mr. Combden please come forward)

Congratulations to Louise Brun-Newhook and Nitish Bhatt who are the winners of the 2016 Writing 2203 “Writer of the Year Awards”. We would ask Mr. Combden to come forward to present Nitish and Louise with their awards. Congratulations!

Track and Field Team AwardsOur Boys and Girls Track and Field Teams had another successful and full season this year. These teams consisted of 3 Special Olympians, 16 males, and 18 females and involved participation in 4 indoor track meets, 2 outdoor meets, and the SSNL outdoor track and field provincial which our school hosted on May 27 and 28. Their results were fantastic! In April, Gonzaga won the High School Championship Banner at the Spring Indoor Track and Field Meet and, at the SSNL Provincial in May, both teams once again delivered solid performances. Of the 18 schools who competed, our Boys Team placed 3rd and our Girls team placed 1st!Our school has a long history of excellence in sports and we recognize the drive, athleticism and sportsmanship that is necessary for every Provincial Championship Team. In keeping with Gonzaga tradition, we would like to ask all members of our Girls Track and Field Provincial Team to come forward to formally present their banner to our school. (Enter to music: We are the Champions)Ladies and gentleman, I present the SSNL High School Track and Field Girls Champions! I ask each girl to raise her hand when her name is called.
