THE PROCLAMATION OF THE WORD1st Reading Job 42:1—6, 10—17 Pew Bible p.

578 (Isabelle Hockin) Psalm 62

(Sung by the choir)

My Soul finds rest in God alone, my rock and my salvation. A fortress strong against my foes, and I will not be shaken. Though

lips may bless and hearts may cures, and lies like arrows pierce me, I’ll fix my heart on righteousness; I’ll look to him who hears

me.O praise him, Hallelujah, my delight and my reward; everlasting,

never failing, my redeemer, my God.Find rest, my soul, in God alone amid the world’s temptations;

when evil seeks to take a hold, I’ll cling to my salvation. Through riches come and riches go, don’t set your heart upon

them; the fields of hope in which I sow are harvested in heaven.I’ll set my gaze on god alone and trust in him completely;

with every day pour out my soul, and he will prove his mercy. Through life is but a fleeting breath, a sigh too brief to measure, my King has crushed the curse of death, and I am his forever.

SEPTEMBER VESTRY UPDATE--Mission Beyond – Food Pantry distributed 31 bags in September. A gas gift card was given to a family who made 9 trips to Moncton for cancer treatments. White Gift will be starting up very soon.--Mission Within – The Vestry members were asked to step up and volunteer to teach Sunday School to our young children. According to Safe Church Guidelines we will need to have two adults in the room at any given time. The congregation will be asked to support this endeavor. The Sunday School Room is in need of toys for little girls.--Finance Committee – Our envelope offerings were consistent with the level of giving in September 2017. UPDATE ON CATHERINE It's been 38 days since Catherine had her surgery in Halifax. She initially made a quick recovery and was released from hospital on 09 Oct. On the 18 Oct she was readmitted when she developed an infection.

This is now under control; however the doctors have been concerned this week that she has not been eating well enough. Therefore she will remain in

hospital until she is stronger and has stopped losing weight. It's been a long 38 days for Catherine and her

family. Your thoughts and prayers have been so appreciated and Catherine was thrilled to receive all your get well cards. She was like a "kid on Christmas

morning". (Carol & Dave)
