Vision Statement

Holy Family Elementary, learning progressively to empower all students to

achieve in an inclusive and active environment.

Mission Statement

By 2016, the Holy Family Elementary school community will maximize student learning and

achievement by progressively engaging the 21st century learner through inclusive and

collaborative practices.

School will be closed on Friday, May 13 th due to a teacher professional development day.

School will be closed on Monday, May 23 rd for Victoria Day.

Memorial Food Drive (A reminder)

On Monday, May 9th, our school will be participating in the 3rd Annual S.O.A.R (Spirit of Alex and Riley) Memorial Food Drive. Alex and Riley Mercer, brother and sister, were students in our school feeder system who passed away due to a critical illness. Their parents want to honor their memory on this day by asking residents to donate non-perishable food items to the C.B.S./Paradise Community Food Bank. We thank you for your anticipated support to the food bank, which is in great need at this time.

Kindergarten Registration ( A reminder)

A reminder that kindergarten registration will take place on May 11 th and 12th. Please refer to the last newsletter for more information.

Planning For Next Year

We recently received our teacher allocation for the 2016-2017 school year. Some of the changes include:

A reduction of 0.05 teaching unit

One multi-graded classroom of grade 3 and 4 students

We will retain our Intensive Core French (ICF). All students that registered originally in this program have been accepted.

An increase of 0.25 Instructional Resource Teacher

Status quo on our Guidance, Administration, Physical Education, and Music units.

Alberta Fires Emergency Appeal

During May 9th – May 20th, we would like to support our fellow Canadians involved in the devastating fires in Alberta. We will be doing this through the Canadian Red Cross and all monies raised will be donated to them. If you would like to make an optional donation, you may do so by sending along your donation with your child to give to his/her teacher. We will then write a cheque on behalf of Holy Family Elementary. Thanking you in advance for your support.
