Marngrook Footy ShowWednesday,23 March 2011 New Series

ABC TV has pulled off the recruitment coup of the 2011 AFL season by signing up the increasingly popular Marngrook Footy Show.

For the past four years the weekly Australian Rules Football program has been screened on Melbourne's community TV channel 31, and on NITV in some regional and rural areas.

ABC TV will screen the Marngrook Footy Show across the nation each week at 7.30pm on ABC2, starting on Wednesday, March 23rd, before moving to Thursday nights.

The family-friendly footy show has an engaging mix of personalities, humour, analysis and information with an emphasis on Indigenous players, history and culture.

The show is full of all the relevant footy information, including all the teams for each round of the AFL, as well as news and analysis of footy issues and detailed match previews. There's also live music each week from some of the biggest names in the Australian music industry.

Marngrook Footy Show boasts some tremendous TV talent with a rotating panel chock full of passion, expertise and earthy wit from the likes of Grant Hansen, Alan Thorpe, Gilbert McAdam, Ronnie Burns, Chris Johnson and Glenn James.

Marngrook Footy Show also features female reporters Leila Gurruwiwi and Shelley Ware who hit the road every week to bring viewers exclusive interviews with players, stories from all the clubs, and Tiddas Tips as well as the news and injury updates.

During this 6 x 57minute UK series, Britain's Missing Top Model follows eight beautiful disabled women as they compete during seven tough modelling assignments. Their goal is to win a fashion shoot in top magazine Marie Claire which will be photographed by renowned photographer Rankin.

Open to any female who considered herself disabled, these eight women beat over 350 applicants to participate in the series. Mentored by industry pro Jonathan Phang, the women will be judged by Wayne Hemmingway, fashion-turned-property designer; Marie O'Riordan, Maire Claire Editor; Mark Summers, casting agent; and Lara Masters, disabled actor/presenter.

During five weeks of assignments the women must impress the judges or risk being eliminated.

In tonight's episode, the remaining four girls have to pair up with professional male models and create a sense of intimacy in their photo shoot. And one of the girls feels constrained by her disability when undertaking a shoot for a commercial. With only three of them going through to the final week, continuing in the competition depends on the pictures they can produce.

Party Down with a group of struggling dreamers who are stuck working for tips while waiting for their big break. As employees of the L.A. catering company 'Party Down', these misfits mingle with guests at everything from sweet sixteen parties to the most lavish Hollywood soirees. Follow these engaging wannabes as they wait on guests while waiting on something better to come along.

Party Down caters an auction for a preschool. Ron returns to the team, though working for Henry, who is still the team leader. Ron begins acting like Henry did when he was leader, causing problems for Henry. At the auction event, Casey helps out the chairwoman Annie LeGros, who has to raise $250,000 so her son will get a recommendation letter for the pre-school. Leonard and Diandra Stiltskin appear at the auction. They have given a meeting Tom Hanks as their prize, though Leonard tells his wife he was actually unable to get Hanks, which means he'll have to outbid everyone for it. When time is running out for the auction and they still haven't raised enough money, Casey tells Annie to bid on the Tom Hanks prize, causing Leonard to bid another $20,000, which brings the total to $250,000. Casey gets good news when she learns she scored a small part in a Judd Apatow film, and believes it will be her big break. Leonard finds out Henry told people about his prize, which cost him more money. He then promises Henry he'll never work again as an actor.

Annie (Lenora Crichlow) is keen to suppress the traumas she endured in Purgatory and get back to her usual routine. She also nominates herself as Mitchell's (Aiden Turner) Guardian Angel.

At work, Nina (Sinead Keenan) finds Adam (Craig Roberts), a teenage vampire, lapping at the vein of one of her patients. Adam quickly explains that the patient is actually his father and he has been feeding off him for years. Until his father recovers, George (Russell Tovey) takes Adam back to the house.

Meanwhile Mitchell is approached by Richard (Mark Lewis Jones), a punctilious middle-aged vampire. Richard has been sent by the vampire aristocracy - the Old Ones, to ferry Mitchell out of the country and away from the Box Tunnel 20 police investigation. When Adam's father dies, leaving him alone in the world and without a food source, Mitchell suggests Adam live with the old vampire Richard and his wife Emma (Melanie Waters). But it's only later that they realise that they have left Adam in the custody of heinous perverts and endeavour to rescue him.

Guardian Angel Annie, helps Mitchell get a job and realises along the way that she is falling for him. But with Richard encouraging Mitchell to leave Barry, Mitchell is torn and doesn't know what to do. Can he leave his friends?

Henry (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) is busy courting Anne (Natalie Dormer) while trying to deny Katherine (Maria Doyle Kennedy) access to his court. When Brandon (Henry Cavill) tells him that Anne and Wyatt (Jamie Thomas King) were lovers, Henry says he believes her denials and prepares to take her to see the King of France. As debate arises over Henry's right to refuse orders from Rome, Cromwell (James Fraine) presses the Archbishop of Canterbury to consent to the King's will, even as Thomas More (Jeremy Northam) continues voicing his concerns. Meanwhile, at Anne's urging, Henry banishes Brandon from his court.

Henry gets a strong reminder of the depth of the dissent when a priest at the royal chapel openly denounces his plan to marry Anne. But he won't back down, and Archbishop Warham reluctantly presents him with a document proclaiming the church's loyalty. More resigns but promises not to speak publicly against Henry. To refute the rumours Henry invites Wyatt to France, and solidifies Anne's position by making her the Marquess of Pembroke.

Meanwhile, sent to reclaim the crown jewels, Wyatt seduces one of Katherine's ladies-in-waiting. When Archbishop Warham dies, Fisher (Bosco Hogan) asks More to help stop the King's effort to usurp the Pope's authority. And as More prepares his family for his possible martyrdom, Ambassador Chapuys secretly plots to assassinate Anne. As the King uses the visit to gain Francis I's support, Henry's presence in her bed keeps the assassin at bay.

The Taming Of The ShrewIn the 16th century, a poverty-stricken gentleman from Verona, Petruchio seeks a wealthy wife in Padua named Katharina - the shrewish daughter of Baptista. Kate leads Petruchio on a merry chase before he can catch and woo her (and get her dowry!). Annoucing their immediate marriage, Petruchio smothers Kate's prompt denial with an immediate and lusty kiss. Alone, Kate's anger changes to a grim determination to 'show' the presumptuous Petruchio.

Despite Kate's refusal to admit it, the would - be groom always seems to gain the upper hand. After the wedding, he abruptly rides off with his servant, Grumio, leaving Kate to follow on mule-back, tired and hungry. Their honeymoon is a major battle of wit and wits, with Kate as determined to maintain her independence as Petruchio is to tame her. When the embattled newlyweds return to Padua for the wedding of Kate's younger sister, the lovely Bianca to the student Lucentio, Petruchio wins a wager that Kate now is the most obedient of wives. Kate helps Petruchio win the wager, but she shows she has found a less tempestuous and more effective way of dominating their relationship. Not only is it more effective, but both Petruchio and his Kate enjoy it.

Directed by Franco Zeffirelli, The Taming Of The Shrew stars Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Natasha Pyne and Michael Hordern.
