2015-162015-16 WildPride Dance Year Fees

Total fees $1300.00 does not include Nationals if we choose to attend

All members of the 2015-16 WildPride dance team must pay a $50 non-refundable dance deposit on or before 4/6/15 money will be applied to individual accounts.

Spirit Pack order forms and remaining balance is due May 1st, money paid on 4/6/15 will go towards spirit pack fees. Spirit pack pricing range for returning members to new members $215.00 - $325.00

New members: warm-ups, hot shorts, black leggings, 3 tops, black and tan jazz shoes, 2 pair body tights, duffel bag

Returning members: warm-ups, hot shorts, black leggings, 3 tops, black and tan jazz shoes (if needed), 2 pair body tights

Choreography camp dues to be paid in full by July 1st Total cost $150.00: Includes: two competition routines, technique classes each day, Football routine and team dinner on the last night of camp. Pictures will be taken the first day of camp. If you want to purchase them you will need to pay an additional fee to the photographer. Camp will be held at CHS. Dancers will need to provide their own snacks and lunches for all days of camp. All camp money will be due no later than July 1st, if not paid dancer will be dropped from the team as all dancers must attend choreography camp. Camp dates Aug 10-13 at CHS main Gym

$30.00 for lipstick, one set of eye lashes and blush. Girls are required to purchase their own mascara, eye shadow, eye liner, sock bun, bobby pins, and hair ties

2015-16 WildPride Dance Team Expectations

All dancers will attend the choreography dance camp in order to be placed in a permanent spot in the routines taught at camp All dancers must have a current physical on file with CHS

All dancers must attend each choreography session in order to be placed as a permanent spot in the routine Dates to be determined ASAP

Not all dancers will have permanent spots in the routines. Shared spots will be determined by coaches All girls will have new team warm-ups All girls are required to be at practice the week of a performance or competition All girls are required to have a C average in order to participate. No Failing grades allowed. Dancers represent CHS and must be positive school role models, supporting all other CHS athletics this

includes on Social Media Girls will dance at football and basketball (both girls and boys) games. One week notice is required if a

dancer can’t attend any performance. This must be excused by coach Practices will be held:

Monday 4:30-7:30pm Location Union High School in Nampa Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings from 5:45am to 7am CHS main gym

Wednesday from 2-3pm CHS main gym We will have some extra weekday and Saturday practices and or choreography sessions.

Spirit Pack clothing will be worn all year. It is imperative that dancers do not lose any of these items. If they lose them they are responsible to purchase new ones

Dancers are responsible for all pieces of their costumes. If lost or stolen they are required to replace. Costumes are the property of CHS and will be turned in after the Spring Show.

Dancers represent CHS and in doing so they must not participate in any illegal activities such as drinking and drug use. Such activities will result in immediate dismissal from the team.

Dancers are prohibited from using social media as a tool to cyber bully. If negative talk is found on any social media site that may be deemed as cyber bullying dancer will be dismissed from the team.

Arriving Late Policy

All Dancers will have one free late pass Dancers who are late after their first free pass will have to run at the end of practice for the amount of time they were late. After 3 late arrivals dancer, parent, coach and AD will have a meeting to determine what the next step will be After 5 late arrivals the following consequences could be initiated (possible dismissal from team, setting out performances and or

competitions). Missing Practice Policy

Missing practice due to illness is acceptable if it does not become a habit If a dancer is able to attend school then they must come to practice, even if they are just setting and watching If a dancer misses 2 consecutive practices because of an illness or injury the dancer will be required to get a doctor note in order to

be released back to dance If a dancer misses a practice the week of a performance or competition they will not be able to perform or compete All dancers must communicate with the coach when they are going to be late or missing from a practice. Not showing up and not

communicating is not an option

Parent Requirements Be a positive support for your dancer and dance team throughout the entire year Communicate with coach first when there is an issue, if you still have issue after meeting we will

organize a meeting with the AD. Please use the proper chain of command to resolve issues. Understand that not all dancers have the same ability, some dancers have more training and

may be featured in dances because of this training Come to required parent meetings or have someone come in your place if you can’t attend Understand the financial obligation and know that in order for your dancer to dance all fees

must be paid in full by November 30th

Help whenever possible in fundraising and team activities Support coaches and athletic department in their decisions without causing more issues Talking badly about or directly to other dancers or dance parents is unacceptable and cause for

immediate dismissal of your dancer. Must demonstrate good sportsmanship at all performances and competitions towards all

Hello!

I am a member of the Columbia High School WildPride Dance Team located in Nampa, Idaho. I was selected to join a team along with 29 other girls after 3 days of rigorous training and auditions. It is a tremendous honor to be on this team and represent Columbia High School. Last year was the first year Columbia High School went 5A. This is a very difficult division to be in as we are competing against schools with up to 2400 students in them. It was an awesome year! I am looking forward to the experience again this year! The competition is amazing, and to be able to say we brought home trophies and placed in 5A is something to be very proud of!

Last year we logged over 350 hours of practice, choreography, technique classes, performances and competitions. We went to 5 different competitions one located in Pocatello, Idaho, and not only were we able to make it into state in three dance categories, but we were also able to place in the military division!

I am sure you can imagine the great expense associated with training a team in this competitive 5A division, and also the inability of the school district to fully fund all sports and activities. Dance is 100% participant funded so we try to raise as much money as we can to help keep costs down for our families. I hope that you will consider sponsoring me with a tax deductible donation in any amount!

I intend to continue to be a positive role model in my school and the community, prioritizing academics and finding my reward in dance. I anticipate another character building year full of hard work, discipline, camaraderie and success. I sincerely appreciate any support you can give me!

Solo Information:

If you are interested in competing a solo for the GE 2015-16 dance year here is some info you will need. First and foremost team dance comes first. All team fees must be paid in full before you can compete your solo.

All soloists will have the opportunity to dance at both boys and girls basketball games All soloists will dance at our Spring Show All soloists will compete at Pocatello, cost is $50.00 each.

The highest two placing soloists at Pocatello will have the choice of competing at ISI and PNW the cost is $50.00

All soloists will have good sportsmanship towards their fellow teammates who are competing solos as well as other high school soloists.

Solos are a great opportunity for dancers to advance! They are able to add in skills that are different and more difficult than team dances. They allow a dancer to learn how to perform on stage.

2. Bring Hip Hop shoes, jazz shoes, water bottle and HEALTHY snacks with you every day. You will also need to bring your own lunch there will not be time to leave to get anything so make sure you have everything with you when you arrive.

3. Cell Phones will go in Cell jail until breaks and lunch. Please turn them on silent and put in the box upon arrival each day.

4. Keep a positive attitude at all times, the dances may be hard but we have a lot of time to perfect them, don’t give up or complain PLEASE!

5. Be kind and courteous to all of your teammates! Not everyone learns at the same pace or has the same experience, remember we are all in this together!

6. Be respectful to all outside choreographers and teachers, you may not like what they are teaching, it doesn’t matter this is their creative work and we all need to respect that.

7. Can’t is not a word that we should ever hear! 8. Try your best at everything, be willing to get out of your comfort zone and give everything you got in

everything you do!9. Make sure you come to camp each day well rested; staying up late on any of the nights during camp is not

something any of you should do! The days will be long and hard, if you are not focused and able to concentrate because of lack of sleep it will affect your ability to dance!
