SIX CHUTER POWERED PARACHUTE NEWS APRIL 2016

Heading Into a Busy Flying Season

The Six Chuter team has been extraordinarily busy during this first quarter. Winter is usually our busy season on the International front and that turned out to be the case again in late 2015 and early 2016. We are in the midst of finalizing shipments to South Korea, Saudi Arabia, India and Israel. And we have new prospects in France and South Africa. On the home front we are working on a Paragon 912 for one of our existing dealers, Bill Nelson, SkyStriders Aviation. And we are working on one for a prospective new dealer in West Virginia. This on top of routine parts and other support really have us hopping!

As the weather took a decided turn for better this past week in many areas of the U.S., the flight reports have been pouring in. Mark Martin our Lead CFI affiliate at Arlington has been particularly overwhelmed and already says that he is booked solid with students through the summer. Carroll Werren, in New Hampshire finally got a break in the weather and completed production testing on a new Paragon, as well as a discovery flight leading to a sale of another P3 Lite. Many other of our representatives and instructors have reported early season flights and signs of a lot of interest.

The EAA UL Chapter 127 (Pacific Northwest) is planning for their Memorial Day opening rally that will be at Basin Sod Farm in Eltopia Washington again this year. Contact Paul Beam, President of EAA UL Chapter 127 if you are interested in joining Paul Beam ([email protected]) Bill Nelson Bill Nelson ([email protected]) is the flight lead for this year's Memorial Day rally and you can contact him directly for more information.

One of the things that typically happens early in the U.S. flying season is a flurry of parts sales, many of which result from owner/pilots who take a "ready fire aim" approach to getting started with their flying after months of lay off. While we will always be there for our owners with parts support we would rather not see any of our units or pilots "hurt" by rushing forward and forgetting about aircraft maintenance, pilot proficiency and other matters that will slow down their approach to starting the flying season yet make it safer and ultimately more enjoyable. Thus we are sharing a couple of articles to help "aim", before you fire up the engines and take to the sky this year.

These articles have been distributed before but remain popular. They were written to support safety forums at some of our rallies and fly-ins. While in an outline rather than a narrative form they should make some sense to you. One article "attending rallies checklist" is an outline of things to consider BEFORE you decide to attend a flying event. This checklist is relevant to first time attendees and veterans as well. The second article is another checklist of sorts that outlines the most common things that we have learned lead to "incidents". This list has come from open sharing at our safety forums. Again while much of what is offered seems common sense it is the pilot who rushes and forgets issues outlined in each of these who ends up calling us for help, or worse, finding themselves in need of medical attention.

If you are a Facebook member be sure and go to https://www.facebook.com/SixChuterPoweredParachutes and "like" the Six Chuter page where we routinely post information and photos of flying action. If you own a Six Chuter we also have a Facebook Owners group where owner/pilots exchange a lot of practical information. Just email us at [email protected] and let us know your model and year of Six Chuter and we will sign you into that group.

Get A Great Deal On a New Six Chuter Now

Many make the mistake of waiting until the Spring or Summer to start moving forward with owning and flying. And the problem with that strategy is that it takes weeks to produce and deliver and longer in some cases to complete training. So, if you wait too long you find yourself in the position of just being ready to fly as the next winter sets in. We are restocking our winter inventory that has all been sold. If you order a new aircraft you can choose everything from color, to configuration, options and accessories. However we choose a few configurations and colors that seem to be most popular and "build ahead".
