Hi everyone,

I hope you all had a great week last week. The bank holiday weekend was glorious! I hope you all got outside for fun and games. Josh and Róisín were in the paddling pool and Josh had a great weekend watching his Granda get his hay baled. It is June already…… your last month in 4th Class. We will all be looking forward to September when we can be together again with some form of normality. Try to keep going with your school work if you can at all. I know in June it can become harder to stay motivated but always prioritise your reading.

Stay safe,

Mrs. Hurson

Comprehension Support and Vocabulary – ‘Jonathan Sexton’

Like Ms Donnelly used to do with you at school I am going to go through the tricky words in your comprehension reading that Mr Hynes has assigned for you this week. This week’s comprehension is a factual piece of writing about the Irish rugby player Jonathan (Johnny Sexton). There are lots of interesting facts about Johnny’s life and rugby career. Read the text slowly and enjoy it!

Read over this vocabulary before reading the comprehension. I have explained all the words that you might not be familiar with in the story.
